I remember reading about new types of grass and stuff in different biomes. Does that mean if I use a texture pack that I won't be able to see a clear difference between biomes?

Which is why texture packs don't work now (I think)...for now. They'll need to be updated by the creators.

Grass still has just one texture, there is another file which acts as a layer on top of that which changes its colour.

I managed to create first gate to Hell on our server.

Ooh new update the day after Halloween update (1st of November). Downloading it now... No word of what it is about on notches blog though so I'm kind of going in blind.

It fixes the bug where when you died your items would disappear instead of dropping on the floor.

Why are you burning down homes/buildings? this is precisely why fire was banned in the first place. Do I have to break out the banhammer on this one?
