Unofficial Minecraft Discussion XV

It's official.

Ghasts are the most annoying creatures in any videogame ever made. Even more so than Cliffracers.

There are too many of them. I can't get a damn thing done because of it. I want some lightstone but the world spawned all the lightstone suspended from the ceiling over open abyss's that lead into lave. So I have to slowly build a cobblestone tunnel to the nearest one whilst avoiding ghast bombs. I might place 1 block every 5 minutes or so.

There doesn't need to be this many ghasts at once. Also, as soon as I kill one, another takes its place. Annoying.

You CAN knock ghast bombs back at them by hitting it, but the timing seems different every time... like its random or something.

I hate ghasts. Gimme cliffracers.

Pretty sure Notch was also planning a cliffracer-like enemy, except more annoying (his words), so you may get your wish after all. :D

Unless that was the ghast he was talking about.

Some kind of flying creature (hostile or not) in the normal Minecraft world would be pretty cool.

Wow...Povu + that boat really reminded me of a certain game....:P

Shame I wasn't using a sword... A lighter would probably look even better!

So it seems that Antibody and I have finished our "project". Took nearly two full days of digging. Now to put all of that Cobblestone to use.

Wasn't Notch hinting at Dragons possibly being in the game?

My tower off the King's Highway is taking shape. I think it's finally getting taller than the nearby monastery.

My goal is two more stories, then a roof level with a V of glass to prevent... unwanted climbers.

Your unwanted climbers will use dirt blocks to climb up. ;)

Lesson 1 of Minecraft: People will always find a way to get into/onto your buildings.

Unless of course you encase the whole thing in a solid cube of adminium.

You can't without a map editor I'm pretty sure.

When I say V of glass, I mean ^ shaped roof. Not like the things you use to keep squirrels out of bird feeders.

Dome, whatever.

It looks like I can't log into the server.

Time to jump back in Single player then. :P

Is anyone else getting "Connection lost: End of stream" when trying to connect to the server?

It's been like this for about two hours now.

I had no idea you were filming at that very moment when you said that, I thought you were telling me you were going to make a youtube vid eventually. My bad. But nice video, especially for someone who never went there personally like me. Do you plan on doing one for every major settlement on our server?

Put a dirt block under it, use a hoe on the dirt and then plant some seeds and the adimanitum will disappear.

I was actually thinking, since I rarely leave our area, if Nirreln explores every settlement I don't ever have to get around to doing it myself :D

I finally got around to playing about a week ago. I have a base established and enough coal and iron for now, but I haven't been able to find even a single diamond block yet. Any tips on how to find some?

The ones I've found were almost always right next to a pool of lava. Digging randomly, you have an extremely low chance of finding diamonds, but if you can find a pool of lava, there's a slightly higher chance you'll find some. That chance still isn't high but it's the best you can do.
