The ones I've found were almost always right next to a pool of lava. Digging randomly, you have an extremely low chance of finding diamonds, but If you can find a pool of lava, there's a slightly higher chance you'll find some. That chance still isn't high but it's the best you can do.

Alright then. I have something of a lava mine right now so I'll dig around there. I'm trying to keep it somewhat in tact so I can make Obsidian once I get my diamond pickaxe, but hopefully I won't ruin it.

I was actually thinking, since I rarely leave our area, if Nirreln explores every settlement I don't ever have to get around to doing it myself

Since I can't connect to the server, I decided to try single player. But... why is it that none of the dozens of rocks I've mined has dropped anything? At all? No cobblestone, nothing. How on earth am I supposed to do anything if I can't mine any rocks or minerals? Unless I can find a way to make a pickaxe from sticks and dirt, I can't really do anything.

Ban everything and everyone!
Now.

Steps:

1. Ban everyone
2. Unban few players, let them play week.
3. Ban unbanned players again.
4. Unban another set of players. Let them play week.
5. repeat steps 3 and 4 until griefers have been found.

If this doesn't work, we remove the server. And open it after few months. Hopefully griefers are gone by then.

But if you follow that plan, the griefers will not grief when they're unbanned, leading us to believe that the griefers are gone, then when everyone's unbanned, griefing continues. :shrug:

The griefers are probably people we play with everyday. Your method isn't going to find the griefers, they'll just wait.
