What is Minecraft?

Minecraft is a creative sandbox game centered around exploration and survival; exploring and gathering resources allows you to protect yourself against a variety of beasties that hunt you down during the night. The creative sandbox elements of the game fuel your want to survive and gather, which in turn allow you to build many wonderful creations. Basic fluid physics also provide interesting means of creating basic machines.

Server Details
As the BGSF is the center of all good in the gaming world, we have appropriately set up a server - we started on a humble hamachi server, locally hosted, but have since risen in the world, and now have a dedicated minecraft server! You can find the details below, and if you'd like to help us keep the server running details can be found at the spawn

How do you make obsidian? Stationery lava plus water doesn't work for me. =/

Are you putting the water next to the lava or dumping the water straight in? You need to put it near the lava so the water flows over it.

Yep, as long as the water touches the lava "first", by going over it. You can get yourself a bucket of water and empty it on top of a block above the lava. The waterfall will hit the lava and create Obsidian.

My single player game has just exploded with the discovery of that new cave system. Countless lavafalls and waterfalls, and enough coal and iron to make a man weep. My gold and diamond supplies have done well from it too. I now have 30 obsidian blocks - enough for 3 portals, and enough lava and water to get more than I could ever need. Now I just need to find my way back to the surface...

I don't know where to set my base in SP. There are LOADS of monsters at night in one small area. I move around different areas but it's the same.

There was a tiny crack in the floor that I didn't even see. I fell into a lava pit and couldn't get out! I am (figuratively) literally heartbroken!

Where have you asked me? I have received no message

Also as you lack the saving abilities, please don't install mods, before you install a mod you save the data, and turn saving off until the mod is installed.

Also I'm looking into getting hmod to run.
