Guys, I just downloaded your shared map out of curiosity. I'm sure I didn't see everything but the amount of organization and dedication you have towards building a world is amazing. I also can't believe the sheer amount of items you guys collect, the length of the tunnels and the way the smallest things like chests are arranged.

Well done, everyone! :)

I am disappointed in your chosen filename. This will not go without repercussions.

Be afraid.

Just wondering, did you intend for the nether portal in the pyramid to connect to the nether portal that leads to the strip mine? Or were you trying to connect it to another?

Hmmmm... Well, after spending a while playing Minecraft on my own - and completing my epic fortress island (Surrounding an entire island mountain with a wall taller than said mountain, then building 20 6x6 towers even taller than that damn wall while by yourself takes a lot of time!) - I've decided that I need more projects to work on... And therefore, I'm gonna put my name into the shared map list as well. Can't wait to see what you all craft up, nor wait to see what I can do with it. :)

We'll happily tack you on at the end... Hopefully the share map sees a few epic projects in its lifetime.

AHHH GOD just fell into the lava. Lost some diamond and lots of materials.....oh god oh god.

In hate it when that happens. In the very first world I created, I managed to stumble onto a large cave system beneath my home and followed it down to a bunch of lava. To even reach the lava, I had to destroy a Zombie Spawner - which netted me a Music Disk, a Pig Saddle, and a bunch of iron that I was quite happy to receive - before stumbling onto a wide cavern filled with lava. Much to my happiness, I also stumbled onto a vein of diamond, along with a few scattered bits here and there. I had over 20 diamond in hand when I went after a small batch of coal of all things... And stumbled into a little one-square wide crevice I hadn't noticed. Filled with lava.

Lost the Music Disk, saddle, a ton of iron, all my Diamonds, a set of Iron tools, about a dozen blocks of gold...

I destroyed the world in a rage and started up a new one. That little batch of lava started the cataclysm. xD

EDIT: Also, I've decided on the first thing I'm going to do upon receiving that file, should it not be done already... Fill up that cursed sign chest with signs. Opened it up earlier to mark something in my private copy of the world - which I'm just exploring and planning in - and discovered it was completely empty. Disappointing. D:

I feel your pain. Building Mordor on the old community map cost me many a diamond set :swear:

So The Gate Keeper, you've got until http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1179619-unofficial-minecraft-discussion-37/page__view__findpost__p__17483047 at the latest to post and let us know that you've downloaded the map. After you post, you have 48 hours to work on it and upload it. Then it's my turn. :celebrate:

I don't even know where to start. The use of sandstone over sand, the secret Obsidian nether portal. Amazing!

Speaking of that nether portal, Who designed the architecture in the nether? It looks like its carved out of the stone even though its cobblestone -- it wraps around the netherack naturally.

Its hard for me to go back to my original game.

mrcrazy_monkey constructed the base in the Nether. The only thing anyone else did, as far as I know, was me building the netherrack tunnel and the gates themselves. It's pretty cool how much we're getting done, and development should go by even faster now that we reduced the time each person has the map from a week to two days. You can always get added to the shared map list too, if you want.

Thanks for the invitation.

I'm still working with some architectural illusions at the moment...i've been looking at videos and screenshots and taking certain styles and building them within my own game file. Once May hits, my workload should slow down, and i'll have more time to absorb and learn different building techniques.

Hopefully then i'll be confident enough to build something in the awesome world you guys have going on.

A team of four has gone through hell...

Gamemaster, SkyShadowing, LOS, and LEGOGOD have dared ghasts and lava to bring you this:

A complete highway through the Nether from The City Portal to Aulis Portal.

During the course of an hour, Gamemaster, SkyShadowing, and LEGOGOD coordinated to carve a portal through the depths of the Nether itself, under lava seas and Ghast filled caverns, to link up with LOS and his new fortress at the Aulis side, through Keywork's gate on top of his mountain.

The total time: 4 minutes travel between The City Portal and Aulis Portal.

All are welcome to use it- signs will be posted to direct you to the portal. Follow the torches, that's the #1 bit of advice.

Wow you guys were working on that for like hours it seemed. Great job , I think you guys deserve some sort of pay of such a feat.

On another note earlier tonight I made a trek into the forest with little food and I died. It was about a five minute walk from the spawn. I nearly made it back to my stuff with two hearts and then spawned back. I can't have losing two diamond picks in one night.

Paying 500 gold > running for your life from ghasts, but if it's safe now... Great. :D
