It'll be the first time that we use our left arm for something in the game. :P

:ahhh: :ahhh: :ahhh: YES YES.

I've been waiting on a map feature forever! No more sticking close to the spawn for fear of forgetting where my buildings are for me!

Much respect for mining all of that, I could never mine that much Obsidian, hell I can barely stand taking apart nether portals. One question though, where exactly are the molds and the chests of Obsidian? I looked around the main tower but I must have missed it...

I recycled the molds at the end of my turn, just in case anyone wanted to use the cobblestone for anything. After all, it was just a 8-stone square of cobblestone with a single open space in the middle. Not exactly grandiose stuff. As for the chest of Obsidian, it's on the third floor of the main tower. Should be just across from the stairs, at that...

... If something went wrong, I'm gonna break down, I swear. D:

Does anyone know of a seed for a big ocean? I mean a really big ocean? All the maps I've been generating have had oceans that were less than two maximum view distances in length and width. If anyone knows of any that are three or more in size I'd appreciate hearing them.

Don't worry, the chest is fine, I just didn't look in that spot.

Haven't found anything that generates an ocean like that, but your username gens a great desert. and while I don't think it's as big as you want, it gens a good ocean near the spawn too.

Ideally, how many square blocks does a tree need to grow? I've planted them with two blocks between them and the wall and only one grew. It shouldn't be a lighting issue cause the light by each tree is identical.

I have a "waterfall", which is basically the water falling straight down instead of flooding into my "base" and I'm looking out into the bottom of a lake. It's pretty awesome since it doubles as watering for my farming.

I played for like 6 or 7 hours last night and only died once when I opened the door at night and a Creeper snuck up behind me. It svcked but I had slept in my bed, so everything was right there.

Best I found - but apparently it's tough to replicate for some odd reason...

A tree needs ~6 blocks of space free above it along with some room for leaves. Its really weird sometimes too, that one is probably not going to grow. If you want to make sure though use bone meal.

Hmm. I definitely have the 6 blocks cleared. How long should it take for it to grow? Just so I can check on it and see if it's working.

As far as I know trees don't grow gradually, but just pop from a sapling into a full grown tree suddenly, with a random size. I'm not sure how long it takes exactly, a day or two?

Either way if you use bonemeal on it it should instantly make the tree pop up, if nothing is blocking it.

Gotcha. That would explain why my two bone meals just disappeared haha. I'll do some renovating tonight. I was planning on knocking down one wall and redoing it with glass anyways, so this just gives me more reason than "Ooooh, I can see my trees when I walk inside."

Also, the Minecraft Wiki says doors can be placed horizontally but it doesn't say how and I haven't found a video on how to do it. Have any of you guys managed to do it?

I don't like the idea of it only updating when it is in your hands, I'd rather carry a sword when exploring. Unless it can retroactively view your path, then that is fine. I also wonder how underground maps will work.

Well. I just managed it. I broke... a diamond pickaxe. Mining obsidian alone. That's right. I now have 1562 blocks of obsidian... on the nose. Enough to make a 15x15 tower - shell only - 26 blocks high, with some change.

Which means, I'm about halfway to the goal. I cannot tell you just how exhausted I am right now, after having made that damn Nether run so many countless times... However, I'm quite proud of my resilience and patience, just mining that one block over and over and over and over and over... Sigh

... Regardless. I'm not gonna be awake and around by the time 1 PM rolls around, which is when my 48 hours are up. So, I'm gonna skip right to the good part and http://www.mediafire.com/?l75d92aiz6pm4gr to do with what you will. May the fruits of your labors turn out more than just a chest half-full of obsidian like mine did. :P

Oh, and Mr. E... That minecart tunnel of yours. You burrowed right through two coal patches that were annoying me greatly every time I passed by them in my little cart. So after I broke my diamond pick, I stopped by in that tunnel with the stone one and chopped out all the coal. Came away with about 20 coal, after which I replaced everything I mined with smooth stone. So now your tunnel looks a little bit more pristine.

I got the file ill start later today

My current project is to build a tunnel underwater made out of glass. My first try didn't work well, but now I have a small area to fish where I can see out but they can't get to me haha. My second attempt has ended up being a shaft (lol) straight through the water and sand about 35-40 blocks down (right now). I'm going to build a test horizontal underwater tunnel off of this before trying it out into the ocean.

Been experimenting with minecarts, but haven't quite figured them out yet. Can't get my powered minecart to push me at any reasonable speed. I thought it said it pushes you at 8m/s (twice the walking speed), but I'm barely hitting like 3m/s. Ah well, more practice.

Also, I have a toooon of wheat from my two tiny farms. And even with widening my greenhouse in two directions two blocks, I still have only been able to get one tree to grow at a time. I guess I'll just keep messing around with the arrangements of torches and trees.

Haha, try using powered minecarts to push you and try spreading out your staplings so there is 4 blocks between them.

Yeah, I've got it behind me. It's pushing me just fine, just not as fast as I thought it would (or as I've seen in videos). The saplings are plenty distance apart. I'll just keep experimenting with moving them around the greenhouse.

Are you talking about the powered rails that just came out or the little contraption where one cart is in a loop that boosts the other?
