My current project is to build a tunnel underwater made out of glass. My first try didn't work well, but now I have a small area to fish where I can see out but they can't get to me haha. My second attempt has ended up being a shaft (lol) straight through the water and sand about 35-40 blocks down (right now). I'm going to build a test horizontal underwater tunnel off of this before trying it out into the ocean.

Been experimenting with minecarts, but haven't quite figured them out yet. Can't get my powered minecart to push me at any reasonable speed. I thought it said it pushes you at 8m/s (twice the walking speed), but I'm barely hitting like 3m/s. Ah well, more practice.

Also, I have a toooon of wheat from my two tiny farms. And even with widening my greenhouse in two directions two blocks, I still have only been able to get one tree to grow at a time. I guess I'll just keep messing around with the arrangements of torches and trees.

I don't know how you're going about building the tunnel but the technique I use is to make a 2 wide by 2 tall (depending on how wide and tall I want the tunnel) stretch of dirt along the floor of the lake. The dirt displaces the water. Then I line the dirt with glass or whatever material I plan to use. Then I just go in from one end and dig out the dirt.

On the subject, I just completed this yesterday.

Yeah, it's something like that. I built a solid block that reached from the top of the water to the bottom (shallow lake) and then hollowed it out, made the edges glass, then broke the blocks on the outside so I could see out. I'm gonna have to tweak it for horizontal. Maybe find something a little more efficient. This took a little longer than I'd like.

I'm not sure if it'll help you but doors placed underwater will keep water out. So if you have an empty tunnel below the lake, instead of making a route to the surface you can just put a door underwater, or if you can't place it underwater, place it inside the tunnel and remove any part of the tunnel past it. I think this is a bug and it's been a while since I've done it myself so it may have been fixed.

Sooo, the block that the door is on won't have any water on it? (if the bug hasn't been fixed, that is)

There should be step by step instructions in the minecraft mod forum, we can't answer all your questions.

You can't enter a server while in the "Test" mode. Just start up Minecraft normally if you successfully patched it.

I've gotten some occasional rain. I think I even heard thunder a couple of times but I was mining so I couldn't see it. Rain seems to be a somewhat rare occurrence. There's probably about a 10 percent chance it will occur in a given day.

Haven't seen a single wolf since I started my current world. I'm probably not in the right biome for them to appear.

It looks like a 64x64 pack. There's not too many of those so if you check http://www.minecraftforum.net/viewtopic.php?f=1021&t=12352&sid=204b573e23b9894e9584ef53cedd34df#2 you should be able to find it.

Last time I did it the door acted like a wall when closed, separating the interior from the water. When opened, the water started to flow in (not flood it), and it was easy to close the door again.

Still no weather though...

It rained once as soon as I updated, but it hasn't rained since. :(

I've just downloaded the 64x64 Rustic Pack.

I really like it so far, I'll probably post some screens soon after my little project is complete.

Say Tank, any news on when we'll reach 1.5 server status?

(This question isn't soley for Tank to answer, if anyone has the foggiest notion of when, I'd appreciate the answer.

I talked to him about it a couple days ago. He believes that since 1.6 will be out in the near future, that updating the server to 1.5 would just be a waste of time.

So we most likely wont be seeing the server again until 1.6.

So we're locked out for an undetermined amount of time then?
