Oh since you are using classic TNT can not explode it is just a block of TNT and you can use it to build stuff with . In Alpha ( version of minecraft you pay for) you place the TNT and then hit it and run away so you are not in the blast radius. I don't know about the lag issues though , close some stuff out?

Aww, same forcrafting to I guess, will buy before the price goes up then. The high fog deals with the lag, its not perfect. but if im mostly digging it dosent really matter, I will just turn it off to look at things.

If I buy this how long will it take to download ?

I claimed an area, but I have no idea where it is on the map. If anyone could help me figure it out, I'd be much obliged.

I found finding a grid area in-game to be really difficult, even taking into account that Left=North for some reason. Even when I "followed" the map I'd find the map to be inaccurate.

Yeah. I built a statue and put a sign. I think it's just west of

I think that's the area I'm in...but I'm not sure.

This would be so much easier if the catographer map was accurate or easier to follow. Both me and Antibody have been trying to follow it and finding stuff completerly different to what the map says.

Yeah honestly I think I'm giving up until the next map is made, because I can't find ANYTHING in the game that matches what the map says should be there (aside from spawn).

Is there anybody else that was actually able to match up the map and what they see in the game? Because this map, aside from showing the lava and fire at spawn, seems to be of a completely different world.

How far really does the map actually spread? Could it be I've just gone too far? I've been heading North and trying to follow the map, finding it somewhat accurate for their being a lake where it said there should be, but then it went completely loco, with deserts and lakes in areas where the map says there should only be grassland.

After 7 attempts....I think I'm at the cross of A5, A6, B5 and B6......basically, a big mountain area next to water and some sand...http://img405.imageshack.us/img405/6717/72837264.jpg

If no-one else has claimed this area I'd like to build there. (I cant see any buildings there anyway)

Edited image to encompass more land as advised by Antibody. He claimed that his fellow slaves would require more space than the 1sq m I had provided for living space and exercise.

How much exactly is Minecraft? Oh, and you might want to build little towers with signs on them at all the intersections of the grid saying where they are. That might help with navigation.

Now that I've been able to find my way almost halfway to my claimed territory, I see that the map, at least where I've gone, is fairly accurate. I think I was just mixed up by the fact that the top of the map isn't actually north. I would suggest flipping it so that north is the top, but adding a compass in the corner of the next map will do fine, considering we're already used to this layout by now.

@Saurok:

I was encircling our area (the mountain + an area around it) with torches....when I fell and lost all my torches. I'll continue the encircling tomorrow, however if you're on before me complete the encircling yourself. You can see my pattern of torches (starting from the area behind our safehouse, but on the ground not on the mountain).

Ok, I have lots of other stuff to do today.
But I'll try be online as much as possible.

So I cleared away half of the treed and did a bit of work on the boat. Just don't look at the fail sail on it. So I still have a lot od work to do before I set up my base on the islands.

Thats exactly what I had to do to get any proper sense from it. Its still a bit weird though, as there is no indication of height or proper sense of distance.

Well I reached my claimed land and placed torches all over it to mark the boundaries. Finally! I think I may explore a little more than I will be done for the day. I can't wait to see the new map with everybody's territory marked on it.

we need an isometric map

I prefer the top-down style we have now myself, it makes things feel a lot bigger than they actually are.
