What I think we need to do now is stop griefing entirely until we figure out how we're going to handle it. From here on, if you are caught griefing anything, illegal building or not, you should be banned. Plain and simple, no questions asked. You can explain yourself to an admin to get back into the server. While this new 0 griefing policy is in use, we should be thinking of ways to have constructive griefing rules, such as what Wamp suggested earlier about how Suffca should have handled griefing the Legion Fort.

Just my two cents.

Agreed.

I second that motion.

And I third it.

Minecraft isn't about destroying others creations, it's about building your own stuff or helping/getting help on building them. If I want to lay siege to someone's castle, I'll go build my army in Medieval 2 Total War and play online. Or launch Mount & Blade Warband to take over players' castles.

There's limit to how much RP can be applied to Minecraft. :)
Of course, when a user dictates that his building can be demolished because he doesn't want to see it anymore, now is the time for a nice TNT fireworks show. Other than that, let's keep to building structures and having fun doing it. :foodndrink:

Plus, I doubt that combat between players will be enjoyable when damage will be in. It's only a matter of who manages to attack the opponent first and the first who can push his opponent in a corner, attacking him until he dies. But, exploring dungeons with friends, fighting against zombies and other creatures will be a blast I'm sure. :)

Yeah, in fact I hope PvP damage doesn't get in MP. I want mob vs player damage though (and when falling etc).

True.

That is only thing what can resurrect the Multiplayer. IMO

Hey there, gents.

I've been considering buying Minecraft for quite some time, and this is the week where I think I may do it. I do just have a few questions for you guys to help me make up my mind.

1. Does it get old fast? What is the most fun part of the game?

2. I play Dwarf Fortress, Oblivion + Morrowind (naturally), etc.. Will I be missing anything if I don't buy Minecraft?

3. If I join, can I get BGSForum server access? I promise I will never intentionally grief anything (if I were to, say, be digging a mine in a random location and accidentally breach a secret underground base, I would inform the owner at once, apologize profusely, and try and fix it as best I can.)

NOW HEAR THIS!!!

With Hmod gone we are able to connect to the server. We will have to wait for Hmod to be updated before we can use it.

Hmod controls:

All chat commands. So stuff like /home, /sethome are going to be down until an update is released. If you use /home it will just send you to spawn.

So what exactly happens if the payment deadline is reached and we can't pay it? Obviously the server will be taken offline, but is the actual world in danger of being deleted, or do you guys have a way to back it up?

And we may not be able to discuss donations here,

Rohugh: No discussion on donations, no links to advertising other forums.

1. Best 10 euros I ever spend.

2. Minecraft is great sandbox game, but there is no real quest or story behind it. If you play Dwarf Fortress, you should love Minecraft

3. Yes.

1. I wouldn't say it gets old fast, no. I've been playing for...I think over a month now...daily. Rarely do i play such a game for this length and not getting bored. Well, I do get bored sometimes if I have nothing to do, but the trick is to always occupy your mind with something. When I can't think of anything to do, I just start expanding the fortress. The most fun part of the game, for me, is building. It's even more fun in multiplayer because you build with others, and you can chat too (really, it can be very entertaining at times).

2. There's no correlation between playing Ob+MW and playing Minecraft, there can be no comparison IMO.

3. Mining one or a couple of blocks by mistake isn't griefing. They can be fixed in a matter of seconds. Destroying dozens of blocks, putting blocks all over the place and using water or lava to ruin things is griefing.

The die is cast, then.

Thank you, gents, for your good words. I played the free version a little bit ago, and lost myself in it a bit. So hopefully the pay version will be even better.

Can I get PMed the server details?

Would you be willing to help me out with a project now or a little later? It will involve a little walking (especially since /home doesn't work) but it'll take forever to do it by myself. Plus I can help you if you have a question.

Or now home works. It doesn't seem to matter... I can't seem to connect to the darn game. Do I have to manually update? I wouldn't expect so.

I'd appreciate if someone PM'd me the server IP as I've already downloaded it. I plan to play for an hour or two, and then, hopefully, I'll be able to focus on my homework. :shakehead:

a small scale attack doing reparable non-severe damage along with a statement of intent. From this point a more suitable path could've been taken.

The damage I did to the fort is easily reparable. Maybe 5 or 6 stacks of stone are needed to fix it. I'll be happy to donate all of them and fix it myself.
It just made me frustrated to find the building in Neo Montreal full of lava and ice blocks. Nobody gave us a statement of intent?
I've never griefed before and probably will never again. I apologize guys.
EDIT: TesFanner: How much is there? There used to be 5 or 6 lava flows but I cut them down a bit. Should only be 2 or 3 left since the last time I checked.

On the official site. However the free play is nothing compared to the full game IMO.
