Think so, me too.

No.

Also - now going to see what's going on in terms of minecraft stability, and most likely turn mobs back on. We have been running for a reasonably long time without the type of stability issue we saw yesterday, so I doubt it was caused by Mobs.

When I turned them off, the server quit crashing. So I'm 90% sure it was mobs, either that or hmod acting up with the newest update.

Much as Great House Telvanni allow an Imperial Legion outpost on the edge of Sadrith Mora, I would like to extend an invitation to the Gray Death Legion to build an outpost in the outskirts of Tel Undonis. If you find this an agreeable proposal, contact me to discuss a location.

I'm still settling down, so I can't build an outpost for now.

Wamp, any chance of an angled oblique map next time to go with the top-down one? Would make it easier to see what's being built.

That's fine. All that's in New Undonis just now is part of the harbour :P

Assuming we do successfully form the Northern Alliance, I'd like it if everyone in it worked on defining their borders, even if the borders consist of a line a measly 1 block wide. http://img831.imageshack.us/img831/2852/northernalliance1small.png but I'm sure the borders aren't correct in some areas. Undone and I have very easy to define borders, being peninsulas, but that's not the case with everyone else.

Well, there isn't much in the way of official hmod support right now, so that's the large stability issue creator - and the biggest resource consumer. Mobs will increase the resource consumption marginally, but not so much as to detriment the performance (unless Notch has bugged something...).

I think it's safe to assume mobs increase resource consumption significantly then :P

I've got some work to do, but hopefully I can get on the server for a bit while the football's on.

You will lose again! :P

Also, there's a bug Wamp. If you shoot arrows and go over them, you get an endless supply in your inventory.

I can't wait to see what my area will look like on the new map. Should be a bit shinier....

Hey Wamp, I was wondering if you could get rid of whatever keeps people from building at spawn temporarily so that I can build a shelter around it. Something that makes it to where you can't be killed right as soon as you spawn. And I would also wish to clean the spawn up a bit, there are holes everywhere.

I've started building Tel Undonis' main tower, but I have a slight problem. Stairs are a [censored] to place, so for the ramps twisting round the outside of the tower I'd need to use halfblocks. I need wooden halfblocks :(

Yeah, I am closing this for a while.

I think it's cool that you all are into the game and having fun. Except when it's... not fun. I deleted a handful of posts and am cautioning everyone in the thread: If you have an issue with a non-Bethesda game that you are playing elsewhere - even if you happen to be discussing it here and interacting with fellow forumites in the game - you need to resolve any and all game issues elsewhere, or in private. We do not want to have to monitor and hand out warnings if tempers run a bit high over stuff that happens elsewhere but ends up bleeding onto this forum. We don't want to... but we will. :stare: So bear that in mind going forward.

What the Catriarch said is right. If you have a problem at all, take it up with an admin (see list in OP) via PM.

Now, for some clarification on rules:

Large out of place structures such as skyscraqers are NOT allowed. Correct procedure here is for an admin to notify the owner of the building and request its deconstruction. If the owner refuses or takes no action, only THEN should the admin dismantle the building. This dismantling should return the area to its natural state - blowing the crap out of it with TNT is not allowed. Further to this, the rule on structures outwith claimed territory is that they COULD be griefed. Not that they SHOULD be griefed. If a building in unclaimed territory is destroyed then there is nothing an admin can do about it, but admins should NOT seek to destroy such buildings to be seen to be enforcing rules.

And a little further clarification on admin actions in general. Admins should NOT be spawning blocks, and should NOT be teleporting about. The only commands an admin should be using outwith rule enforcement are those available to all members (/compass, /home etc). Admins are supposed to be an example to the other players, and should act as such.

If anyone has any issues with any of this, take it up with Wampbit or I via PM.

I have some questions about claiming land. 1: How do you know where you are on the map when you find a spot you like? 2: after i find that out, i guess i just take the most updated map, claim my spot on paint, then upload it somewhere and show you guys?

Look at the terrain around you on the map and identify landmarks. This is the same method you should use to make sure you don't stray outside of the boundaries (when I was exploring the map, I tried to use natural boundaries to mark the edges).

Use the map in the OP to mark out your claim. It is the only official map. You must also build on the land before a claim can be valid.

Excellent. Thank you. I'll be doing this now.
