I vote yes for a new map.
I vote no for currency.
I vote yes for bartering
I vote no for block spawning even if we can't get some blocks at the moment.

Alright! So, after playing Majoras Mask a bit, I have run into a question that has me stumped.

What shall Clocktown be made of? It seems to have a light colored paper over wood or stone for its walls, and im not sure if that calls for me using Cobblestone or Wood.

My main concern is that if I make the place out of wood, it will go up in flames. If I make it out of Cobblestone though, it will look more like Burrowstone from Fable...

You should join in when we put the new map up! :D

And on that note, I have a working fly mod with increased speed, so I'm going to host a server locally on Hamachi which I'm going to start exploring a new map on.

How much have you explored so far?

"some" :P

The problem is the land generator isn't keeping up with us too well, so we end up just flying over void if we don't give it time.

Indeed. The landscape is pretty cool though. It's definitely nice to have a landscape with biomes from the start.

Sooooo pissed off right now. I was playing a bit earlier, when my computer froze while I was playing Minecraft, so I restart and go and do some non-computer related stuff for a while. Just now, I go back on my game and first it shows my World Slot as empty, which scared me, so I back out of the game and check my minecraft folder. The save is still there, so I proceed to back it up before I actually open the world. I go back into the game, and it drops me in an area far from where I was when the game froze, with my inventory completely empty (I had a diamond sword, bow, arrows, a compass, and plenty of other tools/building materials). Luckily, I recognize where I am and a few minutes later I see my buildings in the distance (I was so glad to see they weren't wiped and I was just imagining that I recognized the areas I had been in.

So I go to where I was before it froze, near one of my new buildings, to see if my items had been dropped - which, they hadn't, and I was very mad.

I exit the game, delete the World folder and put my backup in, hoping it might fix the problem. So, I boot the game back up and load my world; it drops me in a DIFFERENT location than where it had before, but luckily I also recognized this area (it was close to where I had built a staircase), and decided to fast-travel back to my spawn (ie kill myself). So I climb my stairs to the top of the cliff, turn around, and jumped off. And...

It respawned me where it had dropped me when I loaded the world.

So not only did this event wipe my inventory, it also changed my spawn point...

GAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!

So I will be cheating a bit with InvEdit to get the items I can remember back, which I have no moral problem with considering it was a bug that wiped my inventory in the first place. But my spawn point... I have absolutely no idea how to change that back (if I even want to, actually, I could use this as a chance to expand to this area). Not that I die a lot anyways, since I usually play on Peaceful since I just enjoy mining and building in peace.

But... yeah... anyone else had this happen to them?

It is jaw-droppingly stunning, isn't it? I think I might just declare it a nature reserve and make a new map for them :P

http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a179/th3undon3on3/custom-map-normal-day-2.png is the cartographer map so far. I'll probably just explore the rest on my own in single player, since the memory leak on the server absolutely mauls my computer. I understand why our paid server is struggling so much now!

World save is now 184mb, the cartographer map is almost the same size as the world folder was when Pov sent me it :P

"Maybe". Might be pushing it a little. I'm in uni all day tomorrow.

I think we made it a bit too large? Considering how much bigger it would get if you'd fill the whole square in. :P

Let's put it in context. Each block is a metre in Minecraft. Each pixel is a block in Cartographer. The image is 8368x9824 pixels. That gives us a map a smidgen over 8220km2 :P

I downloaded InvEdit for some singleplayer fun, how do you use it?

And does it only affect singeplayer? I don't want to accidentally get banned from MP

I'm trying to get an oblique image so you can see the contours better. Cartographer is objecting. Sternly :P

Walk it? Oh hell no! We flew :)

Cartographer is the main tool for rendering maps, but there are others.

And that's still only 1/5th of the size of the Netherlands... And worlds are supposed to be able to reach several times the size of earth? :P
