A competing mercenary faction of the Gray Death should of course be called Ambrosia.

Nice Deus Ex reference

Someone got it! :P

Anyway I think having http://img809.imageshack.us/img809/6853/custommapnormalday2lol.png explored should be a big enough area to start with, if you explore an equal amount to terrain to the right of the map as well.

It's bigger than it looks. :)

To ensure we don't run into problems with people going out too far, making the map bigger and stressing out Cartographer more, you should designate on the final map what is the "no-mans land" and what is the border of the map that we should not cross. http://img25.imageshack.us/img25/6088/map1s.png.

I don't know. I don't really like being confined to one set area. I just want to wander until I can't go any farther and set up there.

Honestly, neither do I, however you have to consider the fact that if we go out too far, the map will get too large and we'll be unable to use Cartographer anymore, and personally, I want to be able to use keep using Cartographer a whole lot more than I want to go exploring great distances.

The area you will be confined within is big, if it's not big enough we'll have to do something about it, but all I ask is that you try to contain yourself within it at first.

What I suggest is that, with that outline, we simply leave it for people to explore within the square. If you explore within it, and find your territory, mark it, and then mark it when we cartograph the map after a day on the map, we should be alright. That way we have exploration and we have territory. Just try and keep away from one another at first so we don't get too many early wars :P

So do you mean we should outline the area with torches and/ or cobblestone blocks or just post a version of the map with the area we claim marked?

Also you guys do plan on giving us a more complete map than the one undone just posted right? :P

Distribution patterns and depth anolysis suggest Adminium or what is commonly known as "Bedrock"

(To explain the weird talk; I'm watching The Big Bang Theory)

So how long would it take (in real time) to walk from one end of the no man's land zone to the other?

Trying to get a feel for how big this map actually is at the moment.

I'm just stressed :P

And Mark your territory with torches and some recognisable things (that can be seen from cartographer). Then after 12-24 hours I will upload a new cartographer, and this is where you all download them and mark your areas in red, re-upload and post on the thread (also post the names of your kingdoms, and the number of persons). I then look through them all, assign more suitable (less extreme) land distribution so you have some claimed land, but we also have no-man's land etc. and we get on with it :P

I'm going to write my name in torches so you all know which area is mine. :P

I kind of figured that, but with that different texture I wasn't sure.

Not particularly. I liked how I could carelessly jump from cliffs and swim in lava and dig straight down/up without having to worry about damage. It was nice to be able to do all that in multiplayer considering I can't in singleplayer.

Wampbit, I hope you guys give us a specific time when you will be unleashing the map, and give us at least 12-24 hours notice before doing so. It would be nice if the majority of us got access to it at the same time, instead of you guys randomly releasing it at a time when few of us are online.

I was under the impression that was marking the main spawn point.
