I supplied a limited amount of tnt. This far exceeds my supply, as well as the Diamond blocks which no admin would give and only Bone would spawn. It also broke Guidelines I set down to everyone online just before.

Just saw what Suffca and Robbio were talking about. Wow...

Anyway, http://img823.imageshack.us/img823/4951/midairjump.png, which was in the process of exploding. He hovered there for several seconds before being disconnected.

Also, I have plans for what I'll be doing in the new world, but I think I'll work alone for a while. If I ever need someone to join me I'll post here asking for help.

When the new world is online, Wampbit, what will you be considering more "official," the post by Person X linking to the map with their claimed territory outlined, or the actual outline of torches/other material you see when doing the next map? Because I'm worried that immature people may go around griefing the torch outlines we place on the map if we happen to claim an area they were interested in before they do. I don't want to work to make that outline just to see it altered or erased before the next map is made.

Give a written description of the land you want to claim, for instance "I claim the land to the NW, bounded by the crescent desert to the East and the lake to the West", draw a circle round it on the map with paint or something to give the rough area, mark it out with torches in-game, and between those three methods we have a fairly surefire way of getting the right land.

Yes.

Yes.

Ok. I sent wampbit a pm with my username and what not. I guess since I'm posting this, i'll put it here too: its dja_hel.

So, do i have to have some sort of seniority to claim land? And where do i get this map? I'm pretty confused as to what goes on here to be honest.

We're waiting on Notch updating the software (are we actually heading into Beta now?), then we'll be starting a fresh new map. I've PM'd Wampbit a link to the world save (practically tiny at 57MB!), so once the server software is updated Wampbit will upload the new world files (this could take a while), and only once that is finished the map will be made public.

You don't need any sort of seniority or rank to claim territory. When the map is made public it will have land claimed by Wampbit and I marked out, and you should use this as a guide to how much land a person can claim.

As far as I know, no. We are just placing a spawn and letting people claim and build on the land they want (within reason). I'm assuming (and would like it if) people will have the ability to decide how PvP and (to a lesser extent) griefing would be handled on their own land.

Obviously any form of moderate to major griefing shouldn't be tolerated whatsoever though.

Anyone tried out https://github.com/brownan/Minecraft-Overviewer yet?

This is indeed the case. By default, any territory is a non-grief zone. If two factions wish to go to war, it must be declared and agreed on in-thread by BOTH parties. Each may also exempt any of their properties from griefing during war. For instance, you might wish to go to war with Suffca, but only with your castle as an active area, so that the scale model of Prague you've just spent the last month meticulously building wont get destroyed.

Also how about you can't destroy someone's castle unless they're online? It would svck to be offline and find your whole fort is gone.

There's obviously a limit on the initial size of the territory we can claim, but are we allowed to expand our borders at all in the future? Like if the area around our territory goes unclaimed for some time, can we take some of it for ourselves?

It matters not. In the end, your land will belong to me anyway.

Not tonight.

At the top right of the map (what is actually South East) you'll see the snowy ridge. Spawn is right on the beach below that. Of course, we might move it to a more suitable spot before the server goes live though.

Anyway, as of last night, I am now looking for people to build Telvanni strongholds with :P

Although I'm with saurok, I'd still like to help with that. :)

Wooden structures though...

Well, if Notch just got the keystore, this means he's probably at work now, meaning he should have the update up in a few hours, meaning Wampit... you get the idea. Shouldn't be too much longer until we have the map up...
