We're not changing IP addresses? Then what the hell is the point of this? New looks only?

But...who will greet me with "Hello, Welcome" each time I log in? :cold:

I can do it in a very dramatic way.

"HAIL ROBBIO! Lord of New Mordor! Maker of stuff that burns!"

No wait, Hio is the one that makes stuff that burns... *looks to the treehouse* hehehe

And to answer your question Gamgee, I think it has something to do with our world eating up bandwith due to how many pies it has eaten or something.

I am curious though. Will a new map mean access to The Nether is possible?

I'm sure you will all find someone to greet you.

Perhaps I am mistaken, I thought we were switching maps mainly because of the PVP update and the massive map size. Please excuse me if I was incorrect. :)

Have fun on the server, good luck.

Yes...I've stopped cleaning up the remains of Hio's treehouse for the moment. If we're starting on a new map I'm not going to waste anymore time cleaning it up.

Because everyone has tnt, water spawners, and diamonds that were spawned by the mods. It's going to be nice to start fresh anyways.

I thought they weren't supposed to give out diamonds?

They gave out a bunch of stuff they weren't supposed to so the vaults could be made.

I don't. I worked hard to find the diamond myself. :(

In that case New Mordor claims the http://img821.imageshack.us/img821/83/10416035.jpg (Give or take a few square kms for the Suffca Preservation) :obliviongate:

There can be only one true lord of Mordor!

My Barad Dur was build during first age. That makes me rightful successor for throne of Mordor!

So because of that we're getting a new map. This just gets better and better.

That and if the current map gets much bigger the lag will be unbearable. At least that's how I understand it.

We're getting a new map, because new maps are pretty. This one also works with Cartographer, so we can get regular map updates, unlike the current world. Methinks Carto doth protest too much though. I tried running Minecraft Topological Survey, but CPU usage shot up to 100% on all cores before the program gave me a rendering error anyway.

A new map also gives us a chance to restore some order to the server, which we're sorely lacking in. Spawn on the map I posted is the clump of explored land off to the right, but we'll probably move it to the centre of the explored area before we launch.

So you're not cutting of some areas and assigning us to those areas?

We could build another faction using different materials now, to change a bit. That smooth stone took a lot of effort. Maybe regular cobblestone or something else.

Or wood.:shifty:

Well I guess theres no point in building anything on the current map anymore since we're gonna change it. But yea I agree with the new map, and hopefully the aesthetics won't be that messed up this time around.

Time to blow up my own work to smithereens then. :celebration:

Once we have that area all explored out, we'll mark out regions. Players can then claim a region (by the looks of things, we'll have plenty of space :P) as their own on a first come, first served basis.

Also, Pov pointed out that our map is actually only one fifth the area of the Netherlands. I'd like to counter that by saying the population of the Netherlands is more than 305,000 times that of Therradale :P

It's ok, Kiddo. He'll be back :) And when he is, we can have a race to see who can welcome him first!

Well, Notch said SMP damage would come early this week. He's been wasting time playing New Vegas so I don't know how up to speed he is with it.

On the plus side, we can now http://open.spotify.com/user/notch/playlist/3teQKAsKDBPHpafprg39TD
