So, wait, is this like survival but multiplayer, or is this creative mode (infinite blocks and all) but with death?

It's alpha, if I'm not mistaken. so it's the paid version of minecraft's multiplayer. (and alpha is closer to survival mode)

A question - is there any way of finding out your in-game location, or an in-game map? I understand there's a basic compass, but it's not particularly helpful.

On another note, INVedit is awesome.

Well, yesterday I realized that walking around with the entire contents of Shadowvia's treasury in my inventory was NOT a good idea when I got killed by a Creeper, THEN got killed by an invisible mob on my way back to get my stuff (resulting in that unfortunate instance of Things Stop Existing),

I THEN learned while mining to re-fill the treasury that dropping off stuff is ALSO a good idea, as I re-acquired Shadowvia's treasury and then subsequently lost it again to yet ANOTHER Creeper (resulting in me nicknaming then "Duke's Bane").

The only saving grace was two diamonds held in reserve, an iron pick held in reserve, and the fact that the cavern in which I died (I should really upload a screenshot, it just looks incredible) is rich in iron and coal. Oh, and the fact that I conveniently did not mine out a diamond deposit as I made my way to my doom, giving me 4 more diamonds and enough to get a sword, pick, and a shovel.

I'd like to lay claim to a plot of land - bottom right corner of J6, top right corner of J7, bottom left of K6, and top left of K7. Roughly a quarter of each square. Got myself a little wooden shack there.

I used your diamonds and then died again.

Don't worry, I'm back on my feet thanks to my own foresight.

FTR, once I get some expendable diamonds, I have every intention of repaying you.

I'm still too used to the old version. You know, with no monsters in caverns.

Further exploration has discovered that the caverns beneath Mordor go even deeper than I would have imagined. What the adventurers found last time was a corner of this massive complex. I've found an enormous number of rivers and lava falls, as well as huge amounts of gold, iron, diamonds and coal. As well as of course a ton of zombies, skeletons and creepers.

One thing's for sure, this place is huge :P

clearly fake. Don't think java can even support graphics of that magnitude.

Runescape is fully coded in Java and it's graphics are pretty much the same as those linked. In fact they're probably way better now as I haven't played in years.

Wat.

Well the graphics may be fine, but sweet Jesus, theanimations are terrible. Especially the conversation animations.
Oh, and Gamgee, would you mind sharing your desert with
me?

Why can't I log in to the server? I thought Wamp said he added me to the whitelist.

I am reporting to the mods that Shadowvia has been broken into and may have had stuff stolen from it.

A passage was hollowed out, a door was opened (it appears the perp mined out my hidden redstone controls and broke them using a single block).

One of my secret chests was mined out and the top was replaced with cloth. I am going to move that chest to a more secure location. Fortunately, I believe everything of value was kept in my inventory.

Am I right that Shadowvia, being peaceful, is not allowed to be broken into in such a way?

A note to all (particularly thieves): Modmourne, the Blade of Blocky Souls, is no longer in its case, having been moved to a secure location long ago.

So will people please stop breaking the glass. :swear: And also tunneling through my floor isnt cool.

I haven't been able to get on lately since it's my last two weeks of college and I really need to study for my exams. After next Thursday I will be able to resume my Minecraft addiction.

Hey all, I was introduced to the wonders of Minecraft last night by Domothy/Blueone, and I must say I have become immensly addicted to it over the short period of time I have played it, even on single player. I was hoping that someone could add me to the whitelist so that I can come play on the server with you all. If you could that would be absolutely brilliant. Thanks!
