Actually, I was the first to do so on the forums. According to the Admin. Search also revealed nothing. I am confident in my claim. :P

So, as I was saying to Bone a while ago, I think that the server should have a recommended texture pack. I pack that it is suggested that you use but not required. That way we can all see the same things.

I hope everyone remembered the Law of Notch?

Just in case you forgot:

For every 1 thing fixed in Minecraft, 3 more will break.

And with that, I leave you this. From the blog:
Minor patch 1.0_01. More bugfixes tomorrow.

Client 1.0_01 is up, fixing a double chest issue and a rare crash on load level bug.

There’s a serious problem getting the client started for some people (especially Mac OSX?). I’ve also heard about weird item duplication bugs with dropped items, and a severe performance reduction.

It’s 7:40 PM here, but I will work on these bugs tomorrow.

I’m also hoping to be able to squeeze in some fun for xmas.. Perhaps a new mob?

I recommend the default.

So I guess Beta is a bit bugged at the moment.

No one can join servers without getting disconnected. Bug fixes tomorrow.

In SMP can you travel to the Nether? I never got a definitive answer to this question.

Building a fortress in the nether is a pain in the butt. The moment the Ghasts notice you they start firing fire balls, and it's impossible to get anything major done while your dodging them. They also fly around a good chunk of the prime nether real-estate.

Multiplayer could fix that. We could stage a crusade to the nether. Arm ourselves. Some of us fight to keep them occupied and distracted, some of us build, until we have a stronghold worthy of note and drive back the ghasts, and forge for ourselves a great land of our own.

Just don't attack the pig zombies. They're not hostile until attacked, but they also happen to be armed with gold swords and pack a mean punch.

Also:

Ghasts can't see through glass, but their fireballs will destroy it.

Stone blocks can survive direct hits from ghasts.

The common nether rock is easily destroyed by ghasts.

That's what I intend. We have some people loaded up with stone to rush build fortifications, and some people armed with arrows to down ghasts. We could plan and coordinate it. Design the fortress so that we all know what to do, orchestrate factory lines of refined stone production and arrow collection.

Band together these distant and fractured principalities under one banner to defeat the common foe. To Civilize the UnCivilized and UnHoly lands, and colonize other worlds.

Just be careful about the fire. Ghasts also have a bad habit of setting fire to the nether rock. The fire will last until someone physically strikes the burning block.
