Minecraft is such a terrible waste of money, it makes me sick knowing that you all paid €15 for it.

Always nice to see a well thought out and defended opinion

Shame more people don't post such constructive comments.

What makes you say that? I find that it was well worth my money.

I am flattered that you are so upset that I spent my hard-earned money on a game that has given me more than a hundred hours of enjoyment despite being a beta (most of those hours being spent while it was in Alpha). It's good to know that there are fine people such as yourself out there who concern themselves with where the money other people spend goes. And that you discovered that this game is a beta, which MUST mean it's terrible, and you decided to come and warn us to hop in our time machines and buy games that you like and therefore think we must also like? That's so thoughtful! Capital, you are just my favorite person ever. Thank you for being you!

There's also not a lot in that list that interest me that I've not already played.

Besides, we paid for the full game, but the beta is all that's out right now...it's not like we paid for the beta and then will pay again for the finished version.

Also, grow up. Let people enjoy what they enjoy without feeling to need to stupidly interject your near worthless opinion.

Well actually only people who paid for the Alpha will get the final game for free. Of course, that's close to a million people people getting the game for free.

That isn't true.

Most of those games are much older then Minecraft (Thus the lower price), and I already own a large portion of them.

I don't see how it being a beta should factor into it at all. Beta or not it's still a fun game that I, and nearly everyone else in this thread, have put dozens of hours into.

I also have the suspicion that many in this thread will defend Minecraft to the death. :ninja:

It is true, and I could quote exactly when Notch said it http://notch.tumblr.com/ When he first announced Beta was coming he urged people to purchase Alpha as well as gift codes for Alpha before Beta because only Alpha users would get the full game for free.

We will also change the license to remove the line that promises all future versions of the game for free. Please note that this change only affects people who buy the game after December 20, so if you got the game for during alpha, you will still get all future updates for free, despite this change. A promise is a promise.
Buying the game during beta will include all updates up until release, of course, and bug patches will be free.

"Until release" being the thing to note here. But that tweet contradicts what he said in my quote, so I don't know what to think anymore.

There has been a lot of confusion about that, I'm guessing the tweet is more accurate since it was posted later.

Well, after repeated zombie attacks, assassinations by spiders, and invisible skeletons shooting me, and having to dismantle it once because it was too small, the exterior of Autumn Hall has been completed.

I have another portal to report. It was constructed in Shadowiva's arena.

This is gettting ridiculous and concerning. I'm going to take desperate measures to secure Shadowvia against outside intrusion.

It also shows some nerve, because if I had logged in when he was constructing it, he'd be dead. Dead. And then reported.

No it doesn't. I'm pretty sure when Notch said "updates" in the quote you posted, he was referring to the same expansions he was talking about in Nuck's link. At least, that's the way I read it.
