thats what Vidicus said but i was in open air. I've got more than I had before after spending a few hours today so forget about it. Also theres a Huge tower in some open space outside the city, that's mine to direct me to my mine when i die, I spent an hour looking for it last night, I put a Lava and water at the top to make Obsidian and Cobblestone, if anyone needs it then they can use it just don't take down the tower, lava or water

He did drown, but it wasn't his fault from what I understand. I was there when it happened. It was at the spawn, he was swimming around the water but I think he got some form of a Void or another bug that wouldn't let him see it. I recall him asking, "Is anyone else flying?" to. Then he died and I gave him Iron like a good boy ^_^

So I built possibly the greatest tree farm ever to grace Minecrafts existence on top of this it is only 2 blocks below the cloud layer. I carefully placed wooden planks with candles at varying heights and positions so mobs wouldn't spawn on the top layer of the canopy. The canopy can get kind of high, stunting tree growth to 8 blocks makes them grow slower so I didn't do this. I put a glass walkway to the top of the canopy so you can get to the top and clear it.

My brother decided that the fastest way of clearing the canopy was with fire, yes he used fire in a tree farm to clear the top half.

Anyone here know how to make a secure vault? I can supply all the materials needed and pay for the time spent.

I can't make a secure vault, no one can do that. I can, however, make an impossible to find vault. How much is the pay?

You could make it out of Obsidian...

To make a "secure" vault, the main thing you need to do is stop (or attempt to stop) anyone from finding it... Antibody already found an easy way to do that, and what it boils down to is keeping your chest fully encased on all 6 sides. That helps prevent folks from using transparent texture packs to find the chest by peering through the walls and the dirt. Then just put it somewhere unexpected and voila. Obsidian can help if you think it will try their patience too much, but a 1-cube chest is harder to find than a 27-cube (or 125-cube, even) box of obsidian, and the latter would tend to catch someone's eye, too.

Anyone who has a pick can mine through obsidian. Yes, it may take a minute or two if you can't have diamond, but a few minutes of mining is worth being able to steal everything someone has.

I seem to have stumbled upon a major problem during my digging adventures. I have found a cave rich with resources, however is also filled with nasties. Im willing to pay 100 septims for someone to come in and clean it up sometime, and light it with torches. I can supply the torches.

I will give you instructions on how to reach Greywood Region, or if you wish I can guide you there personally.

The cave itself is... pretty damn big. If I had more septims I would pay two hundred, but at the moment all I have is 130.

Greywood Journal Entry 19

Those mercenaries I hired did a excellent job of cleaning up the place. My miners were able to extract the diamond and gold we found, and are beginning work on that Obsidian... however... they hear things down there. The caves are vast, and I doubt they have all been explored.. bits of gravel block entrances to possible lairs of things I dare not speak of.

I have the feeling that the placement of Greywood Bunker 1-1 may have been set in a poor area.. but I can not leave the land I have claimed. Progress on the walls is to deep, and we have made far to much a effort to clear this land. No... I will have my forces claim one of the many nearby mountains. If we can not make a quarry beneath our colony, we shall make one around it.

The mercenaries I hired claim to have come from a town a days journey to the west. Perhaps I will speak to its rulers about constructing a railroad or canol that connects our two lands together... for now however, the defences of Greywood Territories must be built, and a steady source of minerals established. We can not continue to dig below the town, for I fear of awakening something worse then the armies of undead we have been seeing...

Grr... so frustrated right now. I have an awesome idea for houses for my village, but I need bricks to build them. So I go out and look for clay. I haven't found ANY, and I have explored this freaking world so far out... I've nearly tripled the size of my world looking for clay, but I cannot find it.

Maybe I'll just try Sandstone and see how that looks.

I'm usually underneath the bunker in front of the beacon outside of the town, its less than a days walk and easy to see (It has a lot of torches around it). also I'm planning to build a castle up in the north when i get enough obsidian :3
