Grr... so frustrated right now. I have an awesome idea for houses for my village, but I need bricks to build them. So I go out and look for clay. I haven't found ANY, and I have explored this freaking world so far out... I've nearly tripled the size of my world looking for clay, but I cannot find it.

Maybe I'll just try Sandstone and see how that looks.

We can ask tank to add clay and/or bricks to the shop. The config is a SQLite database and I dun know how to work those... yet.

Ah, should have mentioned it was for my SP game :P

But no worries, about 10 minutes after I posted that, I found a large deposit of clay. Now I am searching for MORE :twirl:

Tank just told me how to edit it... IN GAME... so I've forwarded a listing/pricing proposal to the council.

I'm not sure there's a concrete answer for this. There's the possibility that the more areas that get explored the more load it puts on the server. I have no idea to what extent. As for going off the edge of the map, I'm not entirely sure there is one, or one that can be reached in a practical amount of time. Odds are you would get yourself killed long before you ever reached it.

That being said, there are several outposts already placed a fairly long ways away from the central spawn point. You might try visiting one of those and then decide if you really want to explore any further.

Ha, well, I just realized my place that I decided to build upon is on the edge of our known world.

Hey look, you can see outpost two from there. :D

Speaking of outpost two, I'm currently working on an above ground road to said outpost, if anyone has any cobblestone they'd like to donate to the cause, let me know. :)

Lol @ the monolith in the desert.

Why exactly are you guys making outposts further and further out of the city? I thought the point of this map was more about building a city and staying inside it's walls?

I didn't realize how big my Cobblestone Beacon was... hmm.. maybe I should make it a rreplica of the tower in Main City with the Greywood symbol ontop hehe. Once I finish wall construction and find a area to set up the barracks, Ill get right on that I think.

New stuff is coming! Yay

  • Wooden and cobble stone half blocks to add some more options for your designs.
  • New save file format. With the new format, loading is now seven times faster. On top of that, the number of files for each saved world is drastically decreased. This new format will not destroy your current saves, as they will be converted the first time they are loaded.
  • New Minecraft launcher. This is a great communication tool for us as we will be able to give you guys important information directly in the launcher.
  • Various bug fixes!
  • New block! This is a sweet one for you red stone junkies. A block that acts as a signal carrier, much like red stone. But on top of that, it also acts as a repeater AND a programmable delayer.
  • Secret update! Oh, yes. There will be that as well.

Suh-weet!

My current SP world (crashing issues were resolved by just starting another new world BTW, so they must have been specific to that save) gave me a truly epic dungeon that I'm currently exploring. It's flippin' scary. I've used at least 300 torches and encountered 3 zombie spawners so far, and it feels like I'm just scratching the surface. Thank goodness for the compass or I'd be horribly lost in there.

They are there for those that want to explore. Home has been removed so traveling abroad is dangerous. If you happen to die in the wilderness, you'll have to walk back to whatever you've built out there. Also, once shops are implemented correctly they will only be found in the city and can only be used within the city.

Ah ok, so they're just there to make it slightly less dangerous to explore. Makes sense considering /home isn't implemented.

Uhm, I can't sell things in the store for some reason. It just says "[Shop] Item not for purchase". I'm definitely entering the right command and I'm not trying to buy anything. :S

Pretty sure the only thing you can sell to the store is gold ingots. Type /shop list to check.

I think they're waiting until we can actually run the store ourselves to expand on it, instead of it just being a pool of infinite stuff we can buy.
