As mentioned in the previous thread, Wampbit has the old map but his computer is fried just now. Once it's repaired the map will be uploaded.

...Not sure what else you're wanting from us? Wampbit has the world save, but his computer is out of action, hence why he's been incommunicado the last couple of weeks. Nothing we can do until his computer is fixed. When the old map is uploaded, we'll post a link.

Alright guys, which one of you set the forest east of the city on fire? My little outpost is not safe enough when there's a [censored] flaming forest right next to it...

Big Brother will tell us. The commands may not work yet (again) but it is STILL LOGGING! And a subsequent BAN shall be enforced for misuse of fire.

BTW, Tank got Permissions to work correctly so that the iConomy admin commands work. I will be able to issue those bukkit update refunds now. So you should thank him the next time he is on for his genius. But you should also scold him for breaking big brother by updating bukkit. :P

I'm aware I sound like a massive noob right now, but what is a whitelist? Is it a list of people allowed onto the server? If so, could I be added? My username is the same as this: FateOrFatality. Thanks.

Yeah, that's pretty much it. Hopefully one of the admins will see your post and add you. It sounds like a lot of people here just got Minecraft recently. I just picked it up last week myself.

A game like this really does need a whitelist system to prevent total chaos on the servers. I haven't tried any open servers yet (if there are any) but I can only imagine the headache of trying to do anything constructive on them.

Anyways, snow day so... lots of time for Minecraft. :P

It's possible this could have been caused by the environment itself. I've seen it happen in one of my offline saves. An above ground lava pool gets generated and sets the surrounding trees on fire. If it's a large enough forest, someone could have wandered too far in one direction and it could have spread into one of the common areas.

But it's probably more likely someone really likes fire.

There was open lava some ways outside the city, but I checked it out and it was far enough from any trees to catch. Time for Big Brother.

Okay, I took a shot at clearing out a lot of those trees but there are way too many for one person to handle. There's also a lot of trees that are too tall to get all of the fire out. At this point it's probably best to do a roll back.

could someone recommend a good texture pack. im looked at the list on the forums but there are literally hundreds of them. i saw one that had good looking tools in such that the jaggies were less noticable but the blocks were to bright. what is the best texture pack for reduction of the jaggies and looks realistic (for a game made out of blocks at least). do they have high res texture packs or photorealistic texture packs?

Can't do a rollback with the bb commands not working. I'm getting a db editor atm so I can look at the bb.db

I found a post on a forum that might help.

You install cuboid into the server. You then find the highest mountain on one side of the fire and then the lowest point. Then you can type /creplace fire 0. That will replace all fire with air. Then you can type /creplace tree 0 to remove all trees or just mine it yourself.

I have found the source of the fire, I believe, I have placed a link to an image I took of the database file over at the temp bans thread in the Forum Romanum section. For the Ops and council to look at and debate what to do.

EDIT: Tank just fixed big brother. he is rolling back the changes now.

EDIT: Case dismissed. the player was spooked by a creeper while a lava bucket was equipped. The subsequent flashfire lagged the server and crashed him out.

so someone drops lava and starts a forest fire that decimates an enter forest..................if only skyrim would have this.

Indeed. Forest fires are bad. Smokey the bear says: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U6xMd0wSbZc&feature=related

When you next spawn or /spawn, cast your eyes to the South and tremble at the majesty of The Monument to the Imperial Dragon, as it now graces the harbo(u)r of the city with dignity and grace.

For those who were in the know, the massive structure hovering over Shadowvia on the old map has been rebuilt.

Would anyone be interested in a tournament of sorts? I built a fighting pit, and I'd like to try it out.

1) Entry fee is one gold ingot, or 10 septims per battle.

2) You will be given 1 cooked porkchop per battle.

3) No weapons, and only leather armor is permitted. This is for real men. Fists only.

4) Winner will get 1/2 the entry fees plus a diamond.

5) Fights will contain no less than 3 fighters. (This insures that the winner will take home more than they put in the pot.)

6) Since this is a fight to the death, please come with an empty inventory. (I will provide chests for things you might have on you, but they are NOT insured...if they are looted before you get back to them, that's not my problem.)

Please /msg or /mail Carlzilla on the BGSF Server for more information.

Normally I would but I often get killed by mobs due to lag. It's a shame too because I just updated my skin which would have been perfect for this.

I finally got a new laptop and must say... I missed this game so much!

A beta version of Fort Greywood is being toyed around with on Single Player. Once I get Whitelisted, Ill go in one direction for some odd minutes and begin construction on New Greywood.

Just a few questions.

Do Obsidian Factories still work?
Are portals to the Nether finally functional in Multiplayer?
And I hear that Creepers have been getting buffed and nerfed, whats the status on them?

We have made it so that creepers do not do land damage when they explode.

I've restarted the server, since it was lagging hard.

I've had a pretty good mining run this afternoon. A good 20 something diamonds, and about 13 gold ingots. Not bad.
