Minecraft is awesome!

I've found the biggest cave I've ever seen. It just goes on and on. I've found in it alone about 12 Diamond Deposits and around 4 Obsidian fields, and all the coal, redstone, gold, and iron I'll ever need. Its gonna take me months to mine at this rate, and I haven't even finished exploring its depths yet.

If only my internet connection was fast enough, this is a job for BGSF.

Oh and BUMP!! :miner:

$4 sounds pretty reasonable. And considering its minimalist nature, the music in this game is actually some of the more memorable game music I've experienced recently.

Or you could do what I did which is find the music files in the Minecraft folders and convert them to Mp3's. Just sayin...

But then you'd be missing out on the dozen minutes or so of brand new music, all of it in its lossless glory! And a picture of some blocks!

We should make a landmark or monument of sorts to every major game Bethesda has developed. Even, since they're merged, games that haven't been developed by Beth but the series is owned by them, like the first Fallout games. What's a recognizable landmark from Arena?

Anyone know of any single player noclip/speed mods that work with the latest update? I would've thought they'd be easy to find but they all seem to involve downloading from dubious looking websites, or are multiplayer only.

Edit: Nevermind, seem to have found some

Recognisable landmark from Arena.... I don't think there are any to be honest. Arena took place all over Tamriel...

... maybe just hide a sign somewhere that says" Thow arth truly a child of thee empire!"

I was thinking of maybe recreating the first dungeon of Arena. Its all blocky, but it'd still probably take quite a while. Maybe have a Nether portal at the end.

I've been getting questions on how to install Zans map so I will make a walkthrough here. It should be added to the OP.

First you need to get Minecraft ModLoader :

http://www.minecraftforum.net/viewtopic.php?t=80246

Then get a free copy of winrar, 7z could work but its iffy (doesn't work for me but works for others) :

http://www.win-rar.com/download.html

Then get the latest Zans Map :

http://www.minecraftforum.net/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=97332&p=1456935#ZansMini

Then follow these instructions :

1. Extract the data from ModLoader.zip, do the same for zansminimap (preferably into new folder for both)
2. Using Winrar, open the Minecraft.jar file found in appdata/roaming/minecraft.bin You can do this from within the Winrar UI.
3. Drag and drop all .Class files from Modloader into Minecraft.jar
4. Drag and drop all necessary files from Zans Minimap into Minecraft.jar (don't do the readme and whatnot)
5. Delete the Meta -INF folder from the Minecraft.jar
6. Exit the Minecraft.bin folder from within Winrar
7. Exit Winrar
8. Start Minecraft
9. ????
10. Profit

We need this, No really:

http://forums.bukkit.org/threads/mech-rpgcraft-v0-3-7-rpg-features-for-minecraft.4290/

When its done and compatible with iConomy.

Custom classes that get specialized skills/perks for instance:
If you dont mind another suggestion. This would become a much more powerful addon if you could make the classes customizable. Maybe have custom names. Each class will have a set of permissions, or abilities which can be mixed and matched to what we feel a class should have.

I picture the config file looking something like

#Put Monster killing if you want the class to gain xp from killing a monster.
#Put player killing if you want the class to gain xp from killing a player.
#Etc

class name = "name"
class exp gain = ie;
-monster killing
-player killing
-block destroying
-farming

class ability gain =
-double drops from blocks
-double drops from farming
-double coins from monsters

pvp ability gains =
-daze on sword hit
-daze on arrow attack
-poison
-sprint
-double jump

This would allow for specialized things such as Assassin. gets xp only from killing players, gains daze on sword and poison and double jump. And then you can have another specialized class barbarian who has chance for double damage from sword and then beserk which allows for dodge chance.

rather than just Fighter mage thief, which could lead to a long discussion about I think a fighter should do this, i think a mage should do that.

It looks like this is actually what you had in mind. I like the old style currency as well, the exchange rate would be good.

Any chance for mana? I know thats a far fetch, but limiting spells and abilities would be so nice.

I think the PvP could be handled nicely given that players level up and maybe get to choose their perks... hmm. We may even be able to set-up zones. Not like we had in the last map but actual zones. Not arbitrary lines drawn on the map but an actual YOU CANT DO THAT HERE kind of thing.

I want this mod.

That would be great. Some guys proposed a plan for a prison instead of a ban. The prison would be possible if we had zones.

Minecarts annoy me, I don't want to be traipsing around with tons of coal just to go at a good clip. My friend's server allows you to accelerate a minecart by punching it which is far more convenient. When I asked him what mod the server used so I could plug it in to my single player games he said it was either Autocart or Minecart Mania, but wasn't sure.

Are there any opinions here as to which is the best?
