Minecraft is a creative sandbox game centered around exploration and survival; exploring and gathering resources allows you to protect yourself against a variety of monsters that hunt you down during the night. The creative sandbox elements of the game fuel your want to survive and gather, which in turn allows you to build many wonderful creations. Basic fluid physics also provide interesting means of creating basic machines.
The multiplayer is very similar to single-player, just with more people and chat.

"well the mcmmo olympics have officially concluded. we did all the events except the alchemy event as in the end there were only 3 contestants left and the alchemy event is basicly a duplicate of the repair event. over all i say it went ok, some events had a few hiccups and design flaws that i did not forsee when making them and will be much improved when i tweak them. and other events were a shashing success like the archery, acrobatics (which i thought at first went fairly poorly due to the difficulty but people tell me it was one of the most fun events) and the combat event.

as i mentioned before there was going to be a prize for the participant who one 1st, 2nd and 3rd place the most times, although at the moment i still need to do the tallying for that to determine who those people would be. not every one participated in every event.

but the prizes i will mention.

3rd gets a $25,000 server money prize.

2nd gets $25,000 server money prize in addition to a one time access to a special command block that will give them a small running speed boost for roughly a month.

1st gets the same prizes as 3rd and 2nd in addition they get a mob spawner of their choice.

the prizes for making a place in individual events were 1) 8 diamonds 2) 8 gold ingots 3) 8 iron ingots. also i forgot that i meant to give smaller cash prizes to the winners so when i go over the footage that i recorded of the events i will add that money to their accounts which goes in the order of 1: $5000 2: $2500 3: $1000
