Righty - we have an up and running server! (I hope). I'm running it through Hamachi to avoid a few problems:

Hamachi Details:
Name: BGSF Minecraft
PW: Creeper!

Once in the Hamachi you can join the server by connecting to my Hamachi IP and using the default port (25565), on the multiplayer screen enter it in the format ":25565"

Oh, and for those of you that don't like snow, just run further away, it ends and becomes sunny. Also enemies are turned on, you can only kill them with fire so go find some flint and iron!

Fixed the password, I had left the password confirmation dialogue open :s

@saurok - Hamachi acts as a virtual LAN so I'm not sure why you couldn't connect to the internet via firefox. It should state that you are connected to 2 network, your normal network and Hamachi which would appear as local.

Awesome! Except for the "kill it with fire" stuff, any way to change that?

Sadly there is no way to change that, Notch hasn't implemented real damage. Also Saurok you have a relayed tunnel connection instead of a direct tunnel - I'm going to restart my hamachi to see if that fixes it, otherwise it's on your side, check firewall settings and such. Right click me in Hamachi and see if you can ping, if you can things are good.

Then I have no idea why it's not working. Am I missing something obvious? I start Hamachi, click on Join an Existing Network, then as Network ID I use

BGSF Minecraft

Then as password I put

Creeper!

And then it says password rejected. But the Network ID is valid.

Nothing. But it falls if it's unsupported and if it lands on your head you'll start to suffocate. So don't dig directly above yourself in caves!

Wise words. If I need to dig on the ceiling, I will always do it from one block away. It does have a use, occasionally the blocks you dig out drop flint. The blocks are absolutely useless though, I generally drop the load of them I get in the water near my base.

Actually..
If you set them on fire (Flint and Iron ingot) you can kill them.

Also, if you throw down your tool and pick it up, it'll be restored to full health.

What the hell just happened... I was building my house at night and boom I started flying straight up. Obviously I died on impact back on the ground. I respawned and there is a giant hole in the ground of my foundation of the house I was building. I guess I can make a basemant now, but what happened?

Well, first day on our server and lots of stuff is done.


My awesome evil tower starts look like one and there is now giant hole which is 5x7 wide and +60 deep, and it is connected to massive natural cave system.
I'll go and take some sleep, don't ruin my tower <_<
