I for one think that Notch will include a few different blocks and mobs, but not at all to the same scale as the suggestion. One of the reasons the provided screenshots look bland, I'm assuming, is that Notch will be substituting much of the stone and dirt for "lighter" blocks.

Block types that I think could get the cut:
-Quicksoil
-Cloud
-Crystal

And mobs:
-Pigasus
-Sheepuff
(Less Likely) -Zephyr and Sentry

Hostility could come in the form of wind (either environmental or from a mob like the Zephyr), sunburn, or the constant possibily of falling to your death. :shrug:

Edit: or the Sentry that guards the 'temples' that sound like dungeon anologs.

In the Aether Collab, it's a Glowstone portal. That way, you have to spend some time in the Nether in order to reap the rewards.

That would make sense.

That's Mr. E's in-progress sky mob spawner. He said the next time he gets the map he'll remove the frame and only leave the part where the actual spawner will be built, which is only one out of the four sections of the current square.
