Get a character with some kind of teleport, or jump over the spear and hit them with a Rushdown move.

Smoke all the way
his warp behind attack is far superior to scorpions.

None of my friends have this game so I can play with anybody that wants to. Send me an invite on the 360, I need to practice.

Gamertag: IrradiatedRobot

I'm on right now.

Smoke is definitely cool, though Kung Lao is in my top three as well.

In other Mortal Kombat's I pretty much stuck with Scorpion and didn't bother much with the other characters. This time I've been trying to stretch my bounds a bit. I've gotten pretty good with Noob and Ermac. I think Ermac is my favorite so far. Kinda like a ninja/sorcerer. And his fatalities are pretty epic.

It kind of bugs me that certain game modes make you play as specific characters. I groan every time I have to use T-Hawk Nightwolf. It seems for every awesome character there's one that gets on my nerves.

The game is amazing, the Mortal Kombat series is the only fighting game I really like. And this one is the best of them all. It is amazing. The story is cool but is challenging at times.

What I did with Shao Khan was fireballed him (well I was using Sektor so missiled) him in the face until he died. That was the only way I could beat him because he would dominate me no matter which way I attacked him from, teleports, nothing worked. I'd do it, he'd turn around almost instantly own me with a hammer, stun me with a hammer, own me some more with a hammer. So after failing 5 times I just stood as far back as possible as he taunted and did nothing but that for the most part..and he was a walk in the park that way.

People are so pissy with this game. I play as Sheeva and destroy them in King of the Hill, and they get mad and give 0.0. I really don't care about the achievement, it's just the players. And keep in mind it's the same players that use Smoke, Scorpion, Ermac, and Noob, which are the only characters I ever see used. Very rarely do I see someone besides them, because IMO they are cheap, yet they still claim I'm being cheap. Sheeva's attacks are generally slower but stronger, making her easy to counter, it's just the players that use cheap tactics that complain. Anyway, I'm starting to use Shang Tsung, he's very good if you know all the other character's moves.

In the XBL version, in King of the Hill, you see your avatars in a theatre, what does PS3 have? Do they have avatars?

Shao Kahn is stupid easy once you learn if you move far enough back, he will ALWAYS taunt you. I think he is glitched. But then again they say his greatest weakness is his arrogance, so it does fit.

I'm at Sonya's story and getting owned. But, so far I find her to be pretty fast overall and I really enjoy her mid air takedowns.

Yeah

Yeah he was taunting me quite often, but I was afraid to move forward lest he annihilate me with one of his silly moves. I was just saying I don't like how I can't go up to him and actually have combat. It's more or less him destroying me, blocking, dodging or otherwise and me barely doing anything to him if it's fist to fist. Now if I back up and use cheap tactics, he's like an ant under my foot. I think that's pretty stupid.

Nothing in this game is cheap, dont let people whine at you, and dont whine at other people. Yeah there is a lot of Smoke, Scorpion, and Noob. I personally dont run into Ermac very often. All you have to do with those guys is block about twice as often as usuall, they get frustrated and start giving up on there tactics. Then they turn into childs play. Nightwolf has scalped many ninjas :D.

I have Kabal down now too, and Im working on Sektor because his fatalities are awesome, and he laughs at people when hes kicks their ass.

thats [censored] awesome zakarius.

I kicked some ass with smoke. so far my best thing right now is a jump kick the teleport kick and then teleport kick.

Another one im using now is smokes ability to teleport people and then keep them in the air.

I really want to get used to mileena.

Here's a tip for any reptile players:

A great basic combo to learn is as follows:

FK, BP, FP,
Forceball
FK, BP

Will do around 30% damage, is very safe and the first 3 hits will hit high. Very useful.

edit: You can also loop that, and do the first two lines again if you're fast.

Kahn Killing in Story Mode:

These are the tools you need:
-Jump in punch then Uppercut combo
-Blocking
-Standard Lightning
-Enhanced Lightning

What you want to do is repeat this pattern:

1.Stand just outside sweep distance.
2. Tap Block, if he doesnt do a move, jump in combo. If he does a move, block it and jump over him and then do the combo.
3. After your combo connects, throw a meaty lightning. When Kahn gets up he will either eat it, or block it and build your meter.
MEATY-A PROJECTILE DELIVERED AS THE OPPONENT ATTEMPTS TO GET UP
4. When your meter is high enough, use an enhanced Lightning for extra damage.
5. Repeat

Additional Notes:
DO NOT GET HIT BY HIS OMGWTF! SLEDGEHAMMER!
The Combo hits twice, and thus breaks his armor frame.
If you want to get fancy, you can add teleporting behind him when he throws the hammer and hitting a combo.

Thats all that you need to do, but it is easier said than done.
