maybe his brother uses it instead. i've never seen him after dark... hmmm...

Aside from Nazeem, the battle-borns seem to like the place as well. not sure why. the Bannered Mare has a bard that sings praises to the empire.

And if you kill the ghost before it disappears, it will drop a full set of Ancient Nord Armor, probably easiest way to get it early in the game.

If you shoot an object (like a barrel) with stolen arrow(s), when you go to collect the arrow(s) it will no longer be stolen.

Haven't tested it on people yet.

I never knew that if you equip a weapon, you can switch between two different types with one hotkey. Example I equipted two daggers for duel wielding. Then equipted a bow and put the bow as a favorite and hotkey'd it to #3 on my keyboard. If I unequip the bow it defaults me back to the duel wielding daggers. Works awesome for one button on the fly switching from bow for ranged to daggers for close without ever bringing up the menu.

I found out today that you can use Ice Storm to move dead bodies along the ground in front of you. Although I'm not really sure how this can possibly be useful, so I'll just

That there are unmarked locations you can explore. I was in the north, above Winterhold, exploring, and found what looked like an opening. It was a place called "The Chill". Small area, but neat. No map marker, just there waiting to be discovered. Had played the game for over 1000 hours according to Steam, and this is the first time I'd seen this. Boggles my mind that after that many hours, I can still find new things.

Well, I didn't know Mastersmith was moving to Texas.

OT: I didn't know you could decapitate people with a mace until today, probably because I don't like using maces.

Also, Maven Black-Briar's children are possibly inbred.

I just recently discovered the burnt-out house that presumably belongs to that farmer and his wife who you see wandering the road or in an inn sometimes. And it's really close to Lakeview Manor. Roughly south of it, near a small stream running down a hillside.

Didn't know about any inbreeding with the Black-Briars, but I still like Ingun. she is a bit odd, though.

Addendum: I didn't actually know the initiates were marked essential! I purposefully avoid followers because I don't want them to die. But this little tidbit spurred me to research them.
...Completing the DB on my current character has become top priority.

Almost 2 years playing this, I feel stupid.

I never knew the rock formation above the Skyforge was an eagle. I never bothered to look up in that area.

Don't feel bad, I have to admit, I played for probably 6 to 8 months before I even knew there WAS a Skyforge! (even longer before I saw the eagle!)

How did you manage to go through all of Whiterun (and assuming you did the Companions quest line during that time) did you not know that?

On a side note: It may be a bug or it may be a faction thing:

Guards in imperial held cities and khajiit caravans did not attack me while I was in werewolf form, instead the guards attacked anyone who decided to attack me . . .

I love all of the little hidden places in the game. Easter Eggs if you will scattered all over Skyrim and Solstheim. (BTW Texas is great, work is great, work schedule on the other hand svcks, we are currently working 7 12 hour days with no break. Except today we got off 2 hours early.) Hopefully I can get back to Skyrim soon. Got the ps3 all redid now I just need to redownload all of my DLC!!

Because I didn't go all through Whiterun for a long time, my character was out exploring the world. Still, I was there quite a bit, but mostly to get to the merchants and back out again. I didn't join the Companions for a long time. I wasn't able to play as often then as now. Still embarrassing tho'.....egads.....

I am still wondering if the werewolf thing for me was due to a bug or due to factions. If it were due to factions then I may have a problem with guards not attacking a werewolf at all and instead protecting it for no apparent reason.

I already knew it was a bird of prey. I figured it was either an eagle or a hawk, guess at least one of my guesses were correct. What I wonder is what type of eagle it is.

Kinda reminds me of this:

Also is that an iron helmet on its head?

Honestly I didn't realize it was a bird till probably a year after playing. I never really 'looked' at it even though I 'saw' it. My mind just filled in that it was a large rock outcropping and nothing more so I never gave it any more attention than that. I only realized it was a bird when I happened to see it at night while I was running up to Dragonsreach. Strange how you can sometimes see things without really 'seeing' it, if you know what I mean.
