[Relz] Unofficial Oblivion Patch 3.2.0 + Unofficial Patch Su

Post » Fri Dec 09, 2011 2:11 pm

Normally when I'm just UPDATING a package, such as going from 3.3.1 to 3.3.2 of the UOPS I would just rename the old file ( in the BAIN menu ) to match the name of the new file (that you just downloaded) then copy the new file into the BAIN installers folder. You should get a prompt asking if you want to overwrite. Do so, then go back to the BAIN installers tab and it should refresh. Anneal the package.

However, it occurs to me that this probably won't work as planned since the new package contains other stuff that wasn't there before. So yeah, I guess the old one needs to come out first. Thankfully BAIN isn't braindead and won't trash your old UOP file.

Aha! clarified, removing UOP_Supplemental_v331-27710.7z, and appending v332 to the new named version which now replaces 331, as opposed to the documented instruction not to uninstall previous UOP supplementals. I didn't quite get the OBMM complications explanation (dont use it anymore) so that bit flew over me :) (the only thing I use it for now is extracting OBMMs OMODs (see, very little use) to make BAINs)

No. This goes back to my post a few pages ago in this thread. She had added some meshes from the UOP in 5.3.0. However somebody reported a conflict with the Anvil FG and the Leyawiin MG in 5.3.5. I couldn't see anything wrong with the AWLS versions, but the file sizes are different. I wasn't sure if it was just an optimization issue.

Can you check which meshes overlap between AWLS and the UOP(S)? I get so many conflicts with OBMM that I'm afraid I just CTRL click Yes to overwrite them all.

It's always going to report as a conflict. From what I can tell, it wouldn't matter which order the two got installed in, only two meshes overlap, and they should both be the same other than any additional optimizations that were done on the UOPS side. Nothing that's going to make a huge difference either way.

Yes, I understand the conflict thing. My concern is the difference in file sizes. I don't use BAIN, but I thought it had a mechanism for you to see all the conflicts. At this point, I'm trying to figure out which meshes got added to AWLS from the UOP(S). I'm starting to wonder if we're only talking about one set of meshes here and they were added a while ago. However it sounded like there was a new batch in the latest UOPS.

As it stands now, it sounds like we're back to having the UOPS overwrite AWLS. Since I install the all the UOP variants early, I prefer to have mods overwrite them. And that's usually the recommended procedure. Ismelda saw my point before and added the meshes, but I think we're back to having to mess about a little bit until AWLS catches up again.

As I said before, I checked AWLS 5.3.5 and there doesn't appear to be any real difference, aside from file size. The visual fixes made are in both, so I'd lean in favor of using the AWLS versions.

Using BAIN, install order:

QTP3
[Optimized QTP3 meshes here]
UOP 3.2.0
QTP3 + UOP 3.2.0 patch
UOMP v15
UOPS 3.3.2 and any UOMPS updates you need.
AWLS
RAEVWD

You need to be sure you're using the absolute latest version of AWLS meshes, or the UOPS fixes will get wiped out.

Thanks for this detailed info! :)

I'll generally Unzip a package and compare it to the old one, if it has Extra Resources, I'll add them in a New core folder, add a folder for the new esp, if the esps have identical name, Deselect the old one...

So you're the one! :flamethrower:

I noticed some strange behaviour in Rowley at the Wawnet Inn, going outside and sitting on the crate instead of staying inside. Along with that, and a few other glitches I was experiencing, I decided to reinstall my entire game. Then after reading your change log I came across the part of you adding that unused AI package. Oh well, it was time for some house cleaning anyway.

BTW, while he was out there he wasn't trading in any merchandise, only doing training.

And did you do anything to the guys at The Best Defense? A few times they failed to show up for work. While there was always someone there, the odd time one of them was missing. They did show up the next day though.

Best Defense: yes that's Arthmoor's fault. It always is :) I didn't have a hand in this - only making sure that Marus could unlock the door when Varnado was out wandering :) Seriously though, the AI packages were there, they just had some errors that prevented them from executing and Arthmoor fixed them. This first appeared in UOPS 3.3. Check the UESP wiki for their schedules - they actually listed what they were supposed to be and now those have been implemented.

Well at least I know now. I guess I should have read the change log, but there's so much stuff to wade through there. I was having a number of weird glitches occuring while working on this mod of mine and I thought the game was throwing yet another wrench at me. But as I said, it was time for a house cleaning. I've picked up all sorts of junk after trying out various mods and removing them later. It doesn't hurt to clean out all the crap once in awhile, and I now have an excuse for updating a few things I haven't gotten around to yet. And I was getting a few strange things happening as well, though just minor glitches. Maybe a fresh install will get rid of those as well.

BTW, I hope Rowley has the sense to get out of the rain. Did you give him the IsRaining condition so he goes inside when it's crappy weather?

Arthmoor did all the work, I just complained when things didn't work - I'm very good at that :) I doubt Rowley has the sense to come inside when it's raining any more than Mischa does in my mod ;) Might check that out though (for my mod), bartering in the rain is a drag. There were so many changes in 3.3 that I had to reorganize the change file by location so that I had any hope of testing it all. Even at that, I couldn't test it all - just focused on game breaking things or major inconveniences.

So Rowley decided not to sell to you? Shameful. He sells to me. I guess he doesn't like you :P

No, I didn't think to give him an IsRaining condition, but with strictly vanilla weather setups, that won't work right anyway because once he's indoors, it's no longer raining, and he'd just go back out again, only to decide to turn around and do it all over again. All Natural would make it possible for him to stay put properly, but I can't in good conscience make a change that depends on support from weather mods.

I'd say the world got lucky if that's the only glitch.

Hi all,

with WB 290 load order below I`m still getting crucified corpses. I think UOP eliminated this bug.
And R Broder is tilling a stone bridge in Skingrad, not vineyard soil. Any ideas why?

Been having a pernicious crash issue and one area I narrowed down was using the new Frostcrag UOMP patch with Frostcrag reborn.

I've been checking more and more mods with the check for errors command in TES4Edit and this is what I got from DLCFrostcrag -Unofficial Patch.esp:

Are these errors things to worry about or not? Would they be there with the original DLC?

Well he had just sat down so maybe the icon hadn't had time to appear on the UI yet. I'll keep an eye on it next time I pass through there. Which might be awhile yet since I'm starting from scratch again. :stare:

The author recommends not (I remember having to de-select the UOMP plugin when using Reborn) "The Unofficial Oblivion Patch for Frostcrag should NOT be used in conjunction with Frostcrag Reborn. Many people have mentioned extreme problems when this is tried."

What alt3rn1ty said. The patch reports no errors when checked against vanilla Frostcrag, which is what it's designed for.

I'm using UOP Supplemental 3.3.1 and this is the second time I get this bug on "Corruption and Conscience" (Cheydinhal Quest).
After completing the quest or at least have achieved the stage MS10 100 "Garrus has informed me that he was made Captain of the Guard of Cheydinhal to replace Ulrich, and has rewarded me for helping him."
Then Gaurus continue to say the same thing later if you encounter him again "I have spoken to the count of cheydinhal ... and .." at the end you get again you bounty gold. And this proces repeat infinitely everytime you encounter and speak to him.

I confirm this bug happens with the last versions of UOP Supplemental 3.2.11+
I unistalled UOP Supplemental 3.3 and reverted the original UOP 3.2.0 and rebuilt my bashed patch and ... the bug didn't happen!

Hrm. Well. I'll be damned, that was supposed to be fixed and fixed good, but apparently not. That quest is so full of bugs it hurts.

.... oh. I see. The quest script leaves a short window of opportunity to exploit multiple rewards. Easily fixed though. Bothersome that this thing is still bugged after all this time, but it's a very badly constructed quest.

Garrus keep saying: "Finally I got a chance to put Ulrich in Jail fpor good..." (speach without text) then when you activate him he start the last reward dialog again and again...

Is it safe to downgrade UOP Supplemental to previous versions? maybe we should make a blank save.

DO NOT uninstall the UOP 3.2.0 package or any previous UOP Supplementals before using this!

Does that mean we have to stack 3.2.1 throught 3.3.2 on top of each other to get all the fixed resources?

That line is never spoken in the vanilla game. It seems you have another mod which is interfering with the quest. Although what you did find was still a bug, this new line you're talking about doesn't exist.

I wouldn't suggest downgrading over one silly little bug in a quest that's already full of holes as it is. Just resist the temptation to exploit it until the script has a chance to end things properly. Which it will do if you leave Garrus alone long enough.

Or wait for a fix to go up with it and some better documented install instructions :P

Ok. Can someone check this over and see if it makes any more sense? If not, suggest improvement? I really hate writing documentation, and I'm getting annoyed at the fact that I've revised this section about 8 times now and can't help but feel that no matter how I do it, someone will claim it makes no sense :/

Installation
============

The UOP 3.2.0 (http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=5296) must be installed prior to installing the UOP Supplemental. The UOP package contains the majority of necessary resources to support the plugin. Failing to install this ahead of time will leave many unfixed errors behind, including meshes, textures, and broken voice files. It may even result in CTDs or loss of gameplay performance.

The UOMP v15 (http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=9969) must be installed prior to installing any of the UOMP Supplementals. The UOMP package contains fixed meshes and textures which are required. Failing to have this installed ahead of time creates the risk of CTDs or game performance loss.

Manual installation:
--------------------

Unpack the files you need from whichever folders you need them from. Ie: If you want the UOP files, copy everything from the "00 Unofficial Oblivion Patch Supplemental" folder to your Data folder. Do the same for any of the UOMP files you need to update. DO NOT simply unpack the archive blindly into the Data folder or it will not work.

Overwrite any files you are prompted to overwrite.

BAIN:
-----

If using a version of the UOPS prior to 3.3.2, it is probably best to uninstall the older version first, then put this one in the Bash Installers folder and run the install for it as though it were new. Select the ESPs you want to match what you have installed, then install them.

You can also rename this archive file and copy the renamed file over the top of your previous UOPS file, then make sure the proper checkmarks on the packages are set. The anneal function should be able to handle things from there. It might be better to use the rename package function in BAIN to rename the file there before copying this one over.

BAIN will manage any resource conflicts properly.

OBMM:
-----

You should be able to simply put this into your OBMM installation folder and install as usual.

If you already have a UOP Supplemental installer there, the best course of action would be to remove that, and then make sure you reinstall the UOP 3.2.0 and/or the UOMP 15 package.

You must make sure that ALL assets from the original UOP/UOMP packages are still installed, the install script for this Supplemental relies on the ESPs being there.

OBMM lacks any intelligence as far as resource conflicts.

I don't really find the documentation confusing so I cannot offer any suggestions there.

However I would like to report a mesh that has a bad seam, if you will. The mesh is CheydinhalAbandonedInterior01.nif. The abandoned house for Dark Brotherhood. I first thought it was a mod that alters the house, http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=25319#fileanchor, yet it is not. I extracted the mesh directly from the UOP 332 and the problem persists, vanilla or modded. I have included some pictures below to illustrate exactly where the issues are. There are two bad seams. The basemant is not near as noticeable as the 2nd floor. The 2nd floor is pretty bad.

Thanks for your time.
