[Relz] Unofficial Oblivion Patch 3.2.0 + Unofficial Patch Su

For some odd reason, I can't start the UOP Options Menu in the COBL Options anymore. I click on the COBL Options inventory item, and then I get a pop-up to close my inventory menu to open the UOP menu, but when I do this, nothing happens.

I tried typing in the console "startquest uop", but that also doesn't do anything. I've noticed that on the previous version v331 as well. Sometimes, out of nowhere, after 2-5 minutes of playing (realtime), I get a messages indicating that I should wait for combat to end before opening the menu. But funny thing is I wasn't even in combat when I tried opening the menu 2-5 minutes ago.
The reason I am trying to get to the UOP menu is to fix my attributes.

Bump as this got lost between posts - any idea why the UOP menu isn't popping up for me Arthmoor?

I tried with USIP menu, and it worked fine (startquest USIP, though I found that by accident). But startquest UOP by console, or the menu in COBL options isn't starting the UOP menu for me anymore... any pointers would be appreciated. In case my LO is needed (large LO follows):

@amnes: It's not really practical to attempt to fix that issue. Bethesda made the bay too deep, and the land quad(s) covering Niben bay are much too heavily used, and the CS doesn't do a very good job of producing the necessary meshes.

@anithinks: I don't know why it wouldn't be showing up, I haven't ever touched that script, or the COBL options support in any way. The situation you're describing from your previous post almost sounds like you tried to open it while inside a menu, and it didn't handle that well. I'll have to look into the script to see if there's an easy way to nudge it back into shape.

After a long break from Oblivion I've decided to reinstall the game one more time ...btw thanks for the UOP update. :foodndrink:
I'm gonna to have me updated with the latest mod version there is right now. :)


I don't blame you, but I think you didn't notice http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1116054-relz-unofficial-oblivion-patch-320-supplemental-v3-3-patches-uomp-knights-relz/page__view__findpost__p__16389862 about an updated OP, because many links in that OP was not working.

If I'm correct this thread would be 22, because the previous one is 21 and please update the OP before the next thread 23 is started.

@anithinks: I don't know why it wouldn't be showing up, I haven't ever touched that script, or the COBL options support in any way. The situation you're describing from your previous post almost sounds like you tried to open it while inside a menu, and it didn't handle that well. I'll have to look into the script to see if there's an easy way to nudge it back into shape.

I tried the console command when not in the menu, but it wouldn't work. Should I just cleansave without the UOP and apply it - maybe that will fix this. I think this issue came up earlier and got saved in my save game - do you see any issues with clean saving and reinstalling the UOP and supplementals in my existing games?

Arrianna Valga, countess of Chorrol, has a rumor topic that she "recently had a pleasant visit with Arrianna Valga of Leyawiin(I am not sure of the city)".

Either she likes to meet with herself and refers to herself in third person, or the person she meant was named different. Of course, her dialog is spoken, so can't change that. I suggest that that particular rumor/conversation piece be used by someone else than the countess of chorrol - maybe the anvil/leyawiin countesses?

Whatever issues they are is probably not something the UOP needs to worry about. Besides, if nobody has noticed the problem in the last 4 years, it's unlikely to be that important either. I'd say just make whatever adjustments you're talking about in the mod you're working on.

It definitely sounds like the menu got itself out of sync. Clean saving the UOP shouldn't hurt anything. No need to uninstall it first, just uncheck it from the load order.

I think you'd be surprised actually. In many cases it's the same type of fix the original UOP made, they just missed some weapons. I'll compile a list of the additional fixes and send it to you for a final decision on whether they're critical.

I will agree with you though, that since they haven't been found in 4 years they're likely not too major.

Arthmoor, there's one fix that I didn't explain very well in the spreadsheet. So I thought I should provide some more explanation here.
With every standard weapon type, the weapon's weights increases evenly as you go up in quality. For example, an Iron longsword weighs 20, and a Daedric 48; each step up in quality increases the weight by 4.
Madness and Amber weapons are always halfway in between, so they start at 22 and go up in increments of 4 until they cap at 50.

The lone exception to this is the Silver Claymore. Both it and the Dwarven Claymore have a weight of 38. The Steel Claymore, meanwhile, is 26.
That leads to a screwed up progression in Claymore weights. When you add the Madness Claymore in, you get 22-25-26-31-38-36-38-41-44-47-50-53-56-59-62-65.
The ones in bold likely are wrong. By changing them you get the intended progression, 22-24-26-29-32-35-38-41...

OK, so maybe I'm a bit obsessive about minor issues like that but oh well :)

By the way, I tried unchecking the UOP esp, rebashing the patch, and loading - CTD during loading screen, even though all masters were present. Just annealed with UOP esp, and game loads fine.

Essentially, back to square one, can't find a way to correct my broken attributes as UOP menu doesn't show up. Any other way to fix this? My luck is stuck at 115 (I use Elyse Uncapper)...

Do you have you COBL? If COBL is present, UOP menu will be moved under COBL menu.

@BFG99: I seem to recall this issue has come up once before, and it was decided back then that such sweeping changes represented too much of a shift in gameplay to be considered a bug fix. It looks like a great effort, but it's not something I can see the UOP supporting, especially now that a halt has been called to any further updates for non-breaking issues. This definitely fits into non-breaking.

@anithinks: Can you do this in console, preferably with ConScribe loaded:
sqv UOP

Then report back with the output in the logs so we can see what state your variables have gotten themselves into. It may be possible to simply kick it back into a state where it doesn't think it's on anymore. Otherwise, the COBL thing may be it? If nothing else works, a clean save would be guaranteed to reset it since the menu script is strictly UOP material.

In Cheydrnhal, when Aldos Orthan finished arguing with the gaurd, the script Froze and I was stuck froze untill I Counsel killed him.
After that the Quest finished normally...

Yes, I have the latest COBL installed and I am trying to access the UOP menu through COBL options. I had indicated that in the previous posts here, but I forgot to repeat that.

I have Conscribe, and I'll try this once I get back home later tonight.

I already tried cleansaving without the UOP and it wouldn't load the game. Maybe I should coc to somewhere there is no effect from UOP (testing hall?) before I do that to see if I can avoid the crash. I hope I can make the UOP menu behave through some other way rather than cleansaving, as it seems that might not work for my game...

And if you want to boil it down to just that, then that's even more trivial and even less worth the hassle involved with another update, and certainly doesn't rise to anything approaching important enough to fix.

You probably didn't look at the list I put together of 197 corrections, many of which are much less trivial. Weapons with Ignore Normal Weapon Resistance that shouldn't (or vice versa), weapons using the wrong icons, weapons completely missing from the game (Durable Iron Bow and some others), weapons with the wrong enchantments or missing enchantments, or (the reason I suggested this to begin with) weapons that have the exact same issue as weapons that ARE changed by the Unofficial Patch.
Case in point:

All Elven War Axes have the wrong Reach and Speed in the vanilla game. The Unofficial Patch fixes all of those in vanilla Oblivion, but USIP does not fix the exact same issue in Shivering Isles. The corrections are on my list.

I didn't remember reading anywhere that a bug had to be "sweeping" or "game-breaking" to be included in the Unofficial Patch Supplemental. If that's the criteria being used now, that's fine, it's not my choice. (And, to tell the truth, it does make some sense: Oblivion has far too many errors to try to address everything!) But that certainly wasn't the original criteria, as is evidenced by the changes that are in the original Patch.

I was fine with Arthmoor's original response on the topic, and so wasn't planning to say anything.
But once you posted your comment, Jupiah, and Arthmoor responded in kind, I couldn't resist pointing out the irony of you two being critical of changes that used to be considered worthy for the Patch.

Edit: Oh, and it was 6 pounds, not 3. :)

Chalk it up to a case of arriving too late. I think I've made it fairly clear for a while now that trying to fix every last little thing wrong with the game was getting silly and that at some point common sense must kick in and the UOP+UOPS needs to stabilize somewhere for the long term. I think that somewhere is here. Had this list of changes been brought forth even a month ago it would likely have been taken care of, although I imagine that some of these issues just haven't been large enough for anyone to even notice.

There's also the small matter than most of your list is SI material that isn't being addressed at all by the UOPS because I decided some time ago that I don't want to go down that rabbit hole of lingering bugs.
