[BETA]Unofficial Oblivion Patch (UOP) v3.4.0

Post » Wed Dec 14, 2011 2:15 pm

There's something like 2 or 3 meshes the UOPS updated that QTP3 would even affect. Chances are you'd never even notice the difference since the QTP3 meshes are only turning on the parallax flags.

I don't know who would take care of updating that patch to work with 3.4.0 though since Qarl is long gone.

There will probably be an updated one. I think there are a couple of changed meshes which will facilitate it (buildings.)

Also Clannfears had the same head-tracking problem, but they're shorter so didn't get noticed as readily. Fixed those too. I checked everything else and those two are all.

Dev_AKM made the compatibility pack.. if I redo it he will probably upload it for me if I contact him.

If can contact dev_akm and get a response - tell him that FCOM needs some love too.

:shakehead: Why? Is something in the mod broken or doesn't work as advertised?
As I've stated before, you would appear to take great delight in having a go at all things FCOM at every opportunity, even when the mod isn't involved in any discussion.
If you've issues with the mod then come and talk to us. If not, then what exactly is your problem?

Good luck trying to contact dev, Kivan.
It's something that Team Alpha have tried to do many times without success - exploring every possible avenue over several months.
 And as always, big thanks for your continued work on this apparently never ending project.

Defensive much?

Let's see - the FCOM website could use some updating - that would be the minimal amount of love that FCOM might need. Other than that team FCOM and you personally have refused help/communication in the past, so why would anyone try again and again? I already pointed you to where to reply to me if you want to go into the whole packaging debate - no need to even bring that up here.

The problem is that the FCOM website now serves as a source of outdated misinformation. You have even agreed the website is problematic. I know that you all haven't been in touch with him so I simply stated if he did get a hold of him ... FCOM could use some love (attention from its creator).

Is that clear enough?

To the below reply - I'm not seeking answers - I have them.

I refuse to pull this thread off topic.
I've told you many times if you want to debate FCOM or anything to do with the mod then post in it's home thread and I'll give you the answers you seek.
I don't see why myself or any other member of Team Alpha should have to to defend the mod or anything connected out with that thread, so I will certainly not be posting anything in your (?) BAIN thread.

edited in reply to the above :

Wrye Bash has the same home base (Alpha Development Forums) and is an integral and vital part of FCOM's correct functionality.
As you appear to have issues with Team Alpha it's odd you've chosen to promote a subject they have largely helped to develop.

I find it incredulous that you would even attempt preaching to us BAIN's pro's and cons..

Apologies Kivan for the rant. Some things just have to be replied to.

OK, skip contacting dev_akm then. :P Geez did that ever open the proverbial can.

Please squabble in PM's. They are great for that. :)

Obviously the patch will be done when it is done, but are you aiming to have all three ready to go by the time Skyrim comes out?

Yup... Quarn's coming back and already started on the USP installer, and I've already started on https://unofficialskyrimpatch.16bugs.com/ which should make collecting and tracking much easier. I don't think I'm going to make the deadline though, and I'm starting to miss mistakes because of it. Guess I should slow down. :P

Take your time. This is probably the last time anyone's going to be breaking down your door for Oblivion fixes, so make it count. People will be clamoring for a Skyrim patch, but Bethesda's going to be handling that for at least a few months. Oblivion, on the other hand, has been "officially" dead since October '07.

The reason I want to get the bugtracker and so forth underway ASAP is that Bethesda is now listening... going to be verifying all the finds and sending the important ones to them to get fixed officially, I hope on all platforms (the consoles need them the most without access to the command line.)

So the more we can get them to do, the fewer leftovers we have to deal with. :)

They're listening how? Are they going to be monitoring the tracker? Are they seriously going to fix things that get reported there?

I pestered one of the devs and I think he brought it up at one of their daily progress meetings, and so I'll be passing summaries out of the tracker to GStaff and he'll be passing it to them...

I could have just sent them to him anyways but at least now I know they won't be getting binned. :)

Now that the unofficial patch and mods patch have been updated, should we be expecting the SI patch next?

I believe he said he would be finishing up the main patch (bringing it out of beta) before focusing on SI.

If that is the case then you and your team have done an excellent job serving the modding community.  I want to thank you guys so much to squash all the bugs that Bethesda did not get. Thank you thank you thank you.

One more thing.... have you guys ever thought of working as a quality assurance team for Bethesda?

Greetings,

I've been reading this thread and I'm a bit confused as to the status of all the UPs and what action to take to upgrade, so I've got a few questions.

It looks to me like the situation is this:

UOP is updated, but is a beta/RC release
UOMP is updated and is a final release
UOPSI has not been worked on yet
UOP Supplementals has not been worked on yet

Am I correct in these assumptions?

Are the UOP Supplemental patches even relevant/needed any more since the new UOP 3.4 is out?

With the Skyrim operation ramping up, it sounds like the Oblivion patches are either done for good or will be finished at a later date. Is this the case?

Finally, with these new updates is upgrading still as simple as installing over/disabling old and enabling new OMOD to the old patches and rebuilding the bashed patch?

I apologize if any of these questions are redundant or irrelevant. Any information would be appreciated, and thanks for the wonderful patches and hard work!

The Supplementals were mostly merged into the UOP. They were mostly carrying on the work of the UOP after it was no longer being updated.

Bug report on 3.4: The bed in ICWaterfrontShackForSale, LowerClassBed02, no longer supports anything. Anything dropped on it falls right through. I haven't tried the other new bed meshes...

 works fine for me. Could be an occasional Havok glitch that happens.

Anyone else confirm/deny?

Haven't tested but will check asap.

It seems to be selective. Potions, ingredients, and the Amulet of Kings all fall through (reliably). Weapons and torches stay on the bed as they should. Very strange.

Hold on - I may have run these meshes through NifOpt. I'll try the unsullied version and report back.

Bingo! That was it. Sorry for the false report...

You're welcome. Rumor has it they already have one though. ;)

I guess we already do, or will, albeit unpaid. But as long as the bugs get fixed, that's all that matters to me.

Bingo! That was it. Sorry for the false report...

No worries.

And on that, let's finally put this to rest. :)
