Unofficial Oceanic Server

there will be no Unofficial Oceanic Server for Elder Scrolls Online

Elder Scrolls Online is using something called a "Mega Server" the game will place you into channel's (servers) and allow you to switch between them you will not be fixed to a Server (Channel) like in other games

-if you are looking to play with other Australian and New Zealand players there are more Oceanic players using Ebonheart Pact for their starting Faction http://www.elderscrollsonline.com/en-uk/game-guide/alliances/ebonheart-pact

-make sure you are on the same Faction as your friends or you will not be able to group with each other or even see them inside the game

-you can make characters a character on each faction

for Campaigns there WILL be a Unofficial Oceanic Server but we do not have details on how many / the server names yet so it has not been decided

-Campaigns are a PVP server in the Beta there were 26 Campaign servers

-at level 10 you will select a Campaign server to make your home

-you will only ever see another a player from another Faction inside a Campaign server

-Campaign servers will likely be mostly Empty at Oceanic Prime time so we will need to try and group up on the same server

this topic is for players searching for "Unofficial Oceanic Server" and who are not familiar with the game yet. if you are confused about what "Unofficial Oceanic Server" means. its just what Oceanic players call the official game server they are trying to group up on. because during Oceanic Prime time it is about 6am in the USA. a MMORPG can kind of feel empty and dead if players from our time zone are spread to thin.

Nice post for Oceanic players. Having a megaserver is going to be amazing for people who play during traditionally "dead" times as the phasing system will make every location feel like it's bustling 24/7.

Over 5 million beta players were reported playing by ZOS. If even a fraction of a percent of those players buy ESO for PvP during non-traditional times you'll have plenty of campaigns going at maximum capacity.

Night Elf Rogue next to a Tauren Shaman my level 60 characters from a long time ago you can see a bigger screenshot here https://www.facebook.com/DaishDaishDaish

Split them between the NA and Euro mega servers for PC

then XBOX and PS4 have their own Mega Servers

then Beta is a lot of the time full of free to play gamers

i dont really know much about consoles but this site seems legit PC seems to have the lowest population for Skyrim players if that is anything to go by http://www.statisticbrain.com/skyrim-the-elder-scrolls-v-statistics/

The 5 million beta were for NA and EU PC players, not consoles; however, if that's not enough players for you then you should probably try something else like WoW.

that's plenty of players

the Australian population is only around 22.68 million if you were in this time zone you would still be worried  only about Cyrodiil Campaigns

the rest of the game will be fine

There are two megaservers, one US and one EU (which will temporarily also be in the US) - which one are you suggesting Oceanic players go to?

all Oceanic players should know its only possible to play on the US servers 200ms-300ms ping if you try and play on a EU server its a 400-500ms ping and unplayable for almost every MMORPG ever created

hopefully ESO will not make any mistakes that lead people into the EU server if they are from the Oceanic region

there is one thing ive been worried about when i connect to the ESO offical website it will load as "en-uk" instead of "en" but that may just be a language setting on my PC

Don't worry about that, it does the same for me and I'm in Boston (East coast US).

My understanding is that during character creation we can choose whether to create them on either the US or EU megaserver.

Will obviously want to be on the US server, particularly for after the EU server is moved from the US to the EU.

Will be keeping an eye on this thread for aussie campaign info.

And yeh my toons will all be Ebonheart (well my first 4 will be).

An Aussie Ebonheart guild will hold a keep on a campaign, I look forward to joining them.

I really wish you would stop peddling the short sighted notion that all Oceanic players need to congregate into one alliance.

If ESO is anything like GW2, there will be more than enough Oceanic players to maxx out multiple guilds on each alliance.

Telling people to go to one alliance will simply cause the same PvP imbalances and bandwagoning that happened in GW2.
