Unofficial patches cause my house mod not to work

Post » Tue Jan 19, 2016 10:55 am

I created a mod that slightly alters the House Purchase quest. Specifically it adds a couple new dialog options with scripts attached to them to enable things and take gold. The mod works fine prior to installing The Unofficial Skyrim Legendary Edition patch. Now here's the rub. After installing the Unofficial patch the only dialog options that do work are the ones i added, the vanilla ones no longer work. The gold is not taken, the markers are not enabled and the dialog option remains. ie i can continue to ask for several rooms of furniture and never have gold taken or get the furniture in my house.

Now i haven't played in some time, i reinstalled the game, got my mods installed and this crops up. I had all the unofficial patches last time i played and i had no problems out of this mod. ( before it's suggested i tried uninstalling the legendary edition in favor of the separate patches but with the same results, so i opted to go to the legendary edition)

The only thing that i can figure is that something is different with the unofficial patches that wasn't there the last time i played.

Any ideas on how to fix this and still keep the unofficial patches?

I thought about trying to delete the associated scripts and write new ones but a couple of them deal with global variables like HDR_RiftenBedroom, the child's bedroom and changing houses (which i'd rather not fork with).

So far i have uninstalled ALL other mods until i can get this one sorted.

This is why you must make your own housepurchase quest. I did one (two actually) for my Whitewater Farm mod, easy stuff to do.

Not an option in this case as this is one of the vanilla player homes that i have altered.

Use TES5Edit and check what is being overridden in your file from USLEEP.

Apply Filter for Conflict Loser?

I only use Tes5Edit to clean my mods.

Load both your mod and the patches and see the red lines in your mod.

What LoTM said, also; If values are being overridden that your mod needs, you can change them back, I forgot how though, I haven't used it in months.

HOWEVER if you release this to the public you will need to make a compatibility patch too.

I get pinked out lines with gold text, peach text and green text regarding conflicts.

And as far as it being released to the public, it has been on steam since the later part of 2014, but i'm just now having an issue with it.

Got it figured. It had something to do with whether the scripts were OnBegin or OnEnd and the fragment number. Seemingly simple fix for what i thought was a rebuild senario. It's working now so I'll update the mod on Steam.

Thank you Terra and lady for pointing me in the right direction.
