Yeah, each time I saw the latest girl I really wanted to punch my computer. These look good.

I actually like the pig thing... But once again... the grass Pokemon looks rather awful (only Bulbasaur has been good).

However, I think the potential for cool evos is high. I think the otter has the most potential.

:o But Chikorita's so cute! Sceptile was actually my favorite of the third generation starters too.

The only one I liked was Torterra (that includes all evolution levels). But then again... I never use grass Pokemon...

Don't worry, they probably make them not short shorts anymore in the US/EU release... :(

That's good. I think they look kind of stupid anyways. What's with those spiky pocket things?

I think the grass starter has the potential to have a really great 3rd evo. I always liked Arbok and Dragonair and I always wanted to see more snake/serpent Pokemon, so this starter being a grass-snake has my hopes up. As long as it looses those stubby legs before the 3rd evo so it actually looks like a snake, of course.

The fire starter looks cute, but I have a bad feeling the 3rd evolution will just be a generic, mean looking warthog of some sort, like Feraligator just being a bigger, meaner version of Totodile.

Now that I've gotten used to the water starter, I guess it's kind of cute, but I definitely think they could have made a better one.

I guess I'll probably choose the grass starter if it evolves into more of a snake.

I wont lie, they could have been better. And not fire/water/grass... but its official so its "set in stone." Anyways, I have a feeling I'll choose the grass starter, because I always do, then when I tire of the constant uphill battle, and I mean CONSTANT UPHILL BATTLE, of leveling up an fighting gym leaders with a grass type, I'll just trade over my "Elite Team" and rock and roll from their. Though I imagine in the years to come I'll have more pokemon than my current 6 pokemon line-up. Especially since if Zoroark is anything to go by, this gen will look cooler. Buizel :shudder:

What's wrong with buizel? I think it's kinda cute. I also like the grass starter best.

The sea otter/snowman/clown thing just looks so sad.
Going with fire pig though. I mean it's most likely gonna evolve into a fire boar. Think about it, it's a creature that cooks itself while it's beating the ever loving hell out of other creatures.

The grass one is scary... it has the evil eye of Sauron. I don't trust agents of supreme evil. The bunny pig has dull and unresponsive looking eyes, and I doubt it is aware of itself even. More of an object to be commanded than a companion. The otter/bear thing while sad looking at least shows some sort of emotion, and isn't evil.

So it looks like gamefreak is continuing to play it safe and keep the new starters with the basic abilities. You know, blaze, overgrowth, and torrent.
Was really hoping for something other than those abilities. Nothing spectacular just different.

So what are you guys going to do in regards to finding out the majority of the Pokemon in the 5th Generation? When the Japanese version comes out, are you going to check out all the new Pokemon or are you going to wait until you play it yourself? I sort of spoiled everything for myself in the 4th gen by checking out all of the details from the Japanese version, so for this gen I'm going to try to know as little about the new Pokemon as possible. Hell, I'm contemplating not knowing even knowing the evolutions of the starters, though I probably wont be able to resist checking them out. I think I'll like these new games a lot more if I don't know what Pokemon will be in them.

I won't be able to help myself, especially with accessing bulbapedia almost daily.

I'm more into the competitive side of pokemon then the games themselves,so I'll definitely know all about the new Pokemon right as they come out.

I'll use them first whenever they get added to one of the sims I play on.

I doubt I'll even be buying the 5th gen games, they look kinda bad..I think the cars 'n such will take away from the feel of it all.

I bet they'll make the final evolution of the fire starter Fire/Ground.

I'd like to see something like Fire/Grass. That would be cool.

I say:

Fire - Fire/Dark(fire/dark hog ftw)

Grass - Grass/Dragon(snakes are closely related to dragons in eastern mythology, and grass/dragon keeps with the theme of having most dragons 4x weak to ice)

Water - no one cares about the water starter,it svcks.

That's what Sceptile should have been.

They're not going to make a common and easy to raise pokemon a dragon type. That defeats the whole point of dragons.

I guess so,I just want it.

If not the starter,Tropius should definitely get a dragon/grass evo.

What about Flygon? Trapinch were abundant in the desert of ruby and sapphire.
