Unofficial Pokemon thread #14

The only games I really don't think deserved a perfect score are Peace Walker and Super Smash Bros Brawl (because of the not great online). I haven't played Bayonetta, Monster Hunter Tri, or Dragon Quest IX but from what I've heard from everywhere else is that they're great games. I respect Famitsu's scores much more than any other reviewer, that's for damn sure.

I disagree with the perfect score they gave Nintendogs (for obvious reasons), Peace Walker, and Bayonetta. Bayonetta is great but I don't feel it deserved a perfect score. What really made me lose respect for them was the near-perfect score of 39 they gave Final Fantasy XIII.

But anyway, lets not get into an argument over Famitsu. You respect them, I don't. Not much more to discuss.

Hey, Nintendogs was actually pretty fun, and Famitsu tries to be taste neutral.

My apologies for the double post.

How disappointing, I was hoping Pokabu wouldn't be another Fire/Fighting line. Everything else is pretty cool though.

That was exactly what I thought when I read it. What do they want to do, give us a fire/fighting type for every tier?

The deer pokemon looks pretty cool, and I like the water starter's line. I hope that "jaw horn pokemon" isn't an evolution of that other little green dinosaur/dragon thing, but I think it is.

Oh yes, Futachimaru is definitely badass. Pokabu's line may eventually grow on me.

I'm pretty certain that dragon is probably going to be Kibago's evolved form.

I want a Yorterrie

Considering the evolutions for the starters are real, I'll almost definitely be getting Tsutarja. There aren't enough snake pokemon out there, so I'm glad Tsutarja turns into one.

Also, turns out you play the Dream World on your PC. Neat.

I'll probably be getting Pokemon Black, only because I want to see the technologically advanced city that will be in it (as opposed to it being a normal city in Pokemon White). Though I don't have a DS and likely wont for a while, so I may end up getting the inevitable Pokemon Gray if it's released around the time I get one. Might get the 3DS instead though.

Yeah, I know that dragon is too similar to not be Kibago's evolution. I really don't like the color though... would've been better if they kept the green/black color scheme. That yellowish color is disgusting.

That puppy Yorterri is freakin adorable though.

EDIT: According to that page, the starters may still be fake. If so, that is elaborate.

I hope Buffalon isn't tauros's evolve form. I also decided to pick this for my team. http://bulbanews.bulbagarden.net/wiki/File:Desukan.png

http://pokebeach.com/2010/09/leaked-black-and-white-pokemon-information there wont be any evolutions or pre-evolutions of pokemon from previous generations in this generation. So if that's true, then Buffalon isn't Tauros' evolved form.

Why do people insist on calling a pokemon by it's japanese name ?

From the guys over at TV Tropes, I got this scoop that one of Isshu's legendary trios will be three quadraqedal dual Fighting types based on the Three Musketeers.

The Emo Baby and Emo Girl Pokemon made me lol.

To quote from TV Tropes:

Oh, and the fighting trio is awesome. According to Pokexperto:

“Hiro, Melkor, I am the sacred cow. Let me do this, is a gift that I do to myself. Today was a special day. Do not worry or be angry. Thank you. Continue being the same.

In this generation there are 3 trios. The typical four-legged beasts that are inspired by the three musketeers. Steel/Fighting equivalent to Athos, courage pokemon, is blue with yellow horns Rock/Fighting equivalent to Porthos, corpulence pokemon, is gray and very sturdy, like a bull. Grass/Fighting equivalent to Aramis, elegance pokemon, is green and stylized. His shiny version is completely pink. This trio complements with the Water/Fighting pokemon, is a pony with an orange mane, like the feather of the hat of D’Artagnan. This is an event pokemon.

People officially have the game in Japan now, and a bunch of new information is slowly leaking onto 2ch and being reported on Pokebeach. As more info is posted on 2ch, Pokebeach updates. This will go on for quite some time I imagine. Don't go there if you don't want spoilers. As for me, well, I know that because of my terrible memory, chances are very good that by the time I actually play this game I'll have forgotten most of this info, so I don't really care.

One thing's for sure, I am never evolving my Yorterie. It goes straight from "omg adorable" to "meh."

Looking at the complete 'dex now, I'm liking some of them, but the majority are just way over-designed, they've got so many colours and doodads covering them that it's kind of exhausting just looking at them.

At least Chillarmy's evolution is still pretty cute. That final evolution for Yorterie looks like it would trip on it's fur and fall down. :P

There are a few pokemon I really like, but most of them don't really look great to me. Hopefully the ones I like will have decent stats and movepools. I'm still waiting for them to give Espeon enough moves to be a good special sweeper. :(
