I think their plan is to do it during spring break so all their schedules will match up, otherwise that would be the best thing to do. Have the marathon like the weekend after the games come out. That would create huge publicity for them.

I've noted that just about every Pokemon in this generation is good. It really is "play with your favorites".

Yeah, almost everything can hold it's own. Although the fire starter seems to kind of svck. I'm using wotter myself and meguroco (the croc with the markings that look like shades) and a few other cool pokemon but I won't spoil them.

No, they are standard DS games. The game is already out in Japan, but the 3DS won't be out in Japan until February.

Yep. Definately one remake that I want (yes, I'm one of those people who like generation 3. Get your flamethrowers ready...).
Although it might be a little too early to think about remakes, seeing though Generation 5 hasn't been released outside of Japan yet. Not sure what starter to get though. The grass starter is cool to start with, not inerested in it's final form. The water starter is ok to begin with but gets more awesome as it evolves and the fire starter I don't really care about as it is yet another fire/fighting starter.

I loved the 3rd gen. Specifically, Emerald. :shrug: I just really got attached to it.

I'm certainly glad they didn't. The retail price of the 3DS in Japan is going to be over $300 USD (granted, the weak dollar has a lot to do with that, which I am already cursing about for other reasons )

Most likely, though, they wanted Pokemon B/W to be released for the Holiday season, and the 3DS just wasn't capable of making that time window. There will always be another Pokemon game too. The most likely scenario is it'll be like G/S/C. Gold and Silver were technically regular Gameboy games that got a lot of enhancements from the Gameboy Color, and Crystal was a Gameboy Color only game (I'd bet the third game for B/W will likewise be a 3DS game)

I wanted to see if I would trade some Pokemon from Soul Silver to Platinum, but can I do that with just 1 DS through the GTS? Will it recognize that I'm using the same DS and not allow me to do it?

I don't think it will stop you from trading to the same DS. The only problem I see is that you'll have to be very quick to collect the pokemon you are trading before someone else gets them (pokemon like feebas or any legendary will be traded to another player almost immediately). So yes, you can use one DS to trade pokemon over to another game, it's just quite risky.

You could try getting someone's help from the forums in trading them over. It's probably a lot less risky and you do not have to rely on seeing the pokemon in the other game to trade it over.
