Unofficial Shivering Isles Patch crashes at the end

Post » Wed Dec 14, 2011 9:29 am

  • Unofficial_Shivering_Isles_Patch_v1_5_0_Installer_Version
  • Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
  • Retail Oblivion GOTY edition with Knights of the Nine and Shivering Isles

The 3.20 and 3.41 UOP install fine, as far as I can tell. When it comes time to install the Unofficial Shivering Isles Patch, I get this right at the end of the install:

Unable to execute file:
d:\Oblivion\Unofficial Oblivion
Patch\ArchiveInvalidation-AddEntries.cmd

ShellExecuteEx failed; code 2.
The system cannot find the file specified

What does this mean and can I avoid it in the future?

It means I'll be uploading the self-installer again. :)

Thanks for pointing this out. It can be disregarded if you don't want to download the whole thing again. A texture fix or two may not take effect otherwise, but you have to not be using anything else (ie Archive Invalidation Invalidated) for this to happen.

Edit: Updated one's posted at Nexus and uploaded awaiting posting to PES.

Groovy. Thanks for all you do!

Hey, do you know why a stack of torches don't stay hot-keyed the way a stack of repair hammers do? They are supposed to, and they will for a while in a new game. But after a while, you find yourself having to rebind every single torch to a hot key, one after another, because the game "forgets" about the stack as soon as a single torch is lit.
