Creeper. He made my heart happy.
I love the mannequins, weapon racks and bookshelves; those were things I seriously wanted while decorating my house in Morrowind. However, trying to maneuver things in-game is really tricky, and has been since Oblivion. It was actually easier to place items exactly where you wanted them in Morrowind (remember the pillow forts? Good times). We need a way to control how the object rotates while we're holding it, and an easier way to change the elevation of the item and move it closer or father from our bodies at will. Again, Morrowind made this easier; every item you dropped piled at your feet, instead of flying off in random directions knocking things over. Even better, allow us to take things directly from our inventory (like in Morrowind) to do in-world rearranging. Personally, I'd also like a mod that keeps you from accidentally bumping a bowl of fruit across the room. While Morrowind's 'stuff' didn't give you the satisfaction of kicking the Jarl's dinner onto the floor, you also never had to worry about destroying that meticulously prepared dinner spread in your house with one misplaced elbow, or the physics engine randomly freaking out on you.
Levitation and Chameleon spells. I'm mostly kidding, but when the dragon refuses to come down and face me (Me: "Come at me, bro!" Dragon: "Frak you! *flies around like an angry drunk, one-shotting quest-giving NPCs*), and flies too erratically to shoot or fireball, rising to meet him on his own level would be epic. XD I know some people think they're game-breakers, but they were fun, and if Chameleon kept some of the new features that Invisibility now has to keep it from being OP--like NPCs that bump into you can then detect you--it might not be so bad. Levitating would only work outdoors, to get around the instance problem, or something. I dunno. I miss levitating, but I guess Almalexia's edict covers all of Tamriel now.
I cannot begin to describe how much the various followers you have can cause problems. Companions for the Thieves Guild questline would blow my cover by *frakking jumping up and charging screaming into battle*. Not sneaky. Even Farkas knew better, and he clunks around in heavy armor with a claymore (and is a self-described idiot). I'd also like to be able to nudge past them when they block doorways that I need to go through, or tell them to move their @$$es, instead of having to Shout them out of the way. Lastly, when I give my housecarls new armor, they should *leave it on*. I give Lydia lovingly-crafted Legendary Steel Plate or Ebony, and she bloody takes it off as soon as I'm gone and goes back to that crappy steel armor she started with. This would be easily fixed by letting me remove that old armor from her inventory, which I currently can't do.
I wish your spouse would retain more of their original personality after marrying, at least for major faction-related NPCs. I married Vilkas, and he's so... subservient now. I've heard the same complaints from other people who marry a strong-willed character (like Aela). They should retain some of what made them so cool to begin with. On my next play-through, I'll have to find someone who's already of the demure persuasion just so I won't feel like I'm neutering them. ("Vilkas! Get back in the kitchen and make me a sammich!" "Yes, my love!")
Weapons: I missed spears in Oblivion, and am sad that they haven't returned with Skyrim. I would like to see staves 'sheathed' on the character, instead of being pulled from Hammerspace. Sheathing dual weapons properly would be nice, too. And I would like to be able to choose whether my character is right or left handed by default. Shields, bows and two-handed weapons currently don't allow for a left-handed player. Also, being unable to upgrade and properly enchant silver weapons annoys me to no end. They're totally useless after little progression. And 'highly effective against undead' is too vague, especially when the weapon says it only does like 16 damage, or whatever. Even if it's twice as effective against undead, that's not very good. Silver weapons also refuse to go on weapon racks. They just fall unceremoniously to the floor.
I would love to go back to Solstheim, and see the old armor and weapons from the Bloodmoon expansion given appropriate graphical overhauls. I loved my Nordic Mail. I'd also like to see what the Dunmer and Skaal are up to out there.
Your health should regenerate (at least slowly) while as a were, since you can't chug potions. I almost never use Beast Form for this reason. The way the enemies are currently scaled, I can't fight multiples at a time, because my claws just don't damage them quickly enough. This is possibly a level-scaling issue?
Destruction is under-powered at higher levels, which is why I've found myself rarely using it anymore. Perhaps 'channeled' spells could gradually do more DPS depending on your skill level? Nothing obscene, but more than 8 DPS.
Clothing: Capes, please? I know people have been wanting them since at least Morrowind, judging by the mods for clothing packs out there. I like that one set of armor has one, though I wish it billowed a bit. Wouldn't mind putting my characters in a kilt, either (that one set of fur armor sorta works, but I like to wander about town in clothing). Also, one of the things that has annoyed me since Oblivion is that articles of clothing change based on gender. What if Milady likes wearing pants like Sven's, or my male Orc just feels like wearing a dress that day? Either way, calling it a 'belted tunic' when it turns into a dress on girls is irritating.
I wish the hair looked more... natural? It seems like it's become more blocky with things like bangs and fly-aways than it was in Oblivion. And I'd like *all* the eye colors to allow you to choose for either eye to be whited out. Some you can only have a bad left eye, some right, and some don't have the option at all. Allow the player to choose the look of one eye at a time, which would also allow for a character with 2 different eye colors (now I'm just pipe dreaming).
AI followers to be able to keep up with you when you fast-travel with a horse. It seems that not all of them can, and I don't want to risk losing them to a dragon while schlepping in the wilderness if they're non-essential. I've left people behind this way, and have never been able to locate them again.
A DLC where you can help the Forsworn further, maybe join them as a semi-faction like the Orc strongholds. Or maybe try to create a diplomatic cease-fire, or something. I really like the Forsworn as a group, and would love to see you be able to do more than kill them or do that one quest.
Lastly, jewelry. Why only one ring slot? Why can't I craft circlets? And why can't I make a silver emerald ring? Or a silver diamond ring? And making more ornate rings at higher levels of smithing would be really cool. Torcs would be awesome to make or find, as well. Wear them in the necklace slot.
