I have an aging comp from 2011 that I just upgraded the GPU on. Let me know what you all think.

Mobo: ASUS P8768-V Pro

CPU: i7 2600k Quad 3.4

RAM: DDR3 1600 4gbx4 16gb

GPU: GTX 970 upgraded from a GTX 580

Hi folks

Not entirely sure if I should be posting this here, since this isn't really an "issue" - just general question on whether people think I might have even a remote chance of playing Fallout 4 with the following specs. I'm running a really old rig I built back in 2009, so it's quite outdated...

AMD Athlon 6400+ X2 (like I said, old lol)

4GB Ram

Sapphire Radeon HD 7770 GFX card

Windows 7 64bit

Is there even a chance that the game will even run on the lowest possible settings? Or if I overclock a bit maybe?

I'm extremely broke atm, so I have just enough money for the game itself and 'maybe' one upgrade.. like the Ram or Processor for instance. And I don't mind if the game is a bit choppy, or low FPS.. as long as it's 'relatively' playable. But if I were to upgrade one of those two, which do you suppose would be my best possible option?

This is the only game I've REALLY been dying to play for years (long before it was even announced). So please let me know what you guys think! Thanks in advance.

EDIT: Oh I didn't even realize there was such a thread - I guess my topic was moved into this one a few posts above...

Any answers for it? Could really use the help!

Hey guys,

I'm not really what you could call a gamer but occasionally like to play games, I loved Skyrim and was wondering if Fallout 4 would run on my laptop.

Im not asking for it to run on high but just asking if it would at least somewhat smoothly on the lowest settings.

Intergrated CPU graphics, if it even runs it'll likely not run well at all.

If it runs, it will be very low settings if anything. The cpu is certainly past its time and not doing favors for the radeon 7770

Even if you got it running, the 9600gt is far too old and weak now to give anything respectable. Upgrade that video card.

It should load, but youre probably looking at low settings and low resolution.

Its very weak nowadays. Youll be crawling in this game.

Processor: Intel® Core™ i7-4720HQ CPU @ 2.60GHz (8 CPUs), ~2.6GHz
Memory: 8192MB RAM
GPU: Nvidia Geforce GTX 860m 2gb
Without any thinking of not going to be able to run it, i bought fallout 4. Unfortunate my Fallout 4 app crashes when i start it. Did i underestimate Fallout 4 so much?
By the way, i updated my graphics card drivers just 10 minutes ago.

Hi,

i am just wondering if I am living in a dream world about playing Fallout4 on my old computer. I didnt have any issue playing Skyrim. The game crashes before opening with the configuration below. I was planning on overclocking my CPU and getting a GTX 750ti for $140 to make it work. However, I dont really want to spend $140 if i should really just go get a new comp. Any help/advice would be appreciated. I dont really care about running at Ultra, I just want to play the game.

Here are my basic specs.

Summary
Operating System
Windows 10 Home 64-bit

Motherboard
ASUSTeK Computer INC. P7P55D (LGA1156) 59 °C
Graphics
Acer AL2216W (1680x1050@59Hz)
1024MB NVIDIA GeForce GTS 250 (EVGA) 56 °C

With a 750ti upgrade, you should get about medium settings. The core i5 750 is still decent for the game. The gts 250 is the weak factor and would make the game barely playable at lowest of lows.

As I expected the Mac Mini running win 10 under bootcamp can not run Fallout 4... when the installation finishes the installer says it does not recognize the Iris graphics and even setting everything to the lowest res and windowed mode, it just goes to a black screen for a moment with the blue doughnut cursor for a moment then snaps back to the desk top.... the fact that this thing runs Skyrim so well at medium gave me a bit of hope that I would be able to do thinks like crafting on it but it looks like I am shopping for a Pure Windows PC for my living room.

I will try it on my office 5K iMac under bootcamp win 10 after dinner tonight (I copied the 25GB fallout 4 folder on to a thumb drive so the installation won't take 2 hours this time... (would have been nice if gamesas had put more than 5 Gb in to the retail box)

That is CPU graphics, not an actual GPU. Doubt it will run.
