Unofficial "Will My PC run Fallout 4?" Thread #3

Post » Wed Dec 02, 2015 6:53 am

welp, after seeing the game requriements i fear i might just have to buy a new computer (which for my budget is near impossible atm).

was hoping to be able to at least run the game at medium (dont need high or ultra, just smooth 50-60fps at medium)

the pc was aging so i had bought what i could afford to in terms of upgrades. (max spending budget of 450 could only buy so much)

OS: windows 10 home 64bit

Ram: 8GB DDR3

CPU: AMD athlon 2 (x4) (motherboard couldnt support any newer ones)

GFX card: Radeon R9 280X 3GB

1 TB hard disk drive

PSU: 750W EVGA supernova

i fear that if i can manage to run it now it will probably be in the low settings instead of medium.. cant budget anymore spending on computer parts for the rest of the year. :(

Your CPU is the weakest part of that pc.

You have plenty of RAM and your GPU is well above the minimum 7870 though.

I think you should be able to run it on medium at 1080p.

My build the only concern I have is the cpu and if this build will run fallout 4 on ultra.

Windows 7

Cpu: Intel i7 4820
RAM: 16 gig corsair vengeance
Gpu: Gtx 780 ti
SSD: 1 tb

Going to upgrade the gpu later depending on mods I may wait until the 1080 series or whatever Nvidia offers next.

You are a hair under the recommended on the CPU, ...a very thin hair.

The difference should be negligible.

i try it again :P

My rig:

CPU: i5 4460

RAM: 12GB

GPU: R9 270

Windows 10

Resolution: 1920x1080

medium possible? The minimum requirements for the GPU are worrying me. :I

Sure, medium - and perhaps on a lower resolution than 1080p, you should be able to run that game adequate.

Tweaking the graphical settings a bit, will help you to archive a good end result.

Consider that the min req are not very informativ, as: the equivalent for the Radeon HD7870 is the GTX 660 and not the GTX 550Ti. !!!

Also keep in mind the R9 270 (is more or less faster than the GTX660)

Your GPU hovers almost between the min and rec req. (actually 39% above the min req, and 56% below the rec req)

So, on a lower resolution, you should be able to play that game well enough.

Any ideas?

The gpu is probably the main problem right?

Yes, that's an OEM GPU. So your computer is pre-built right ???

> I cannot upgrade due to size and age problems. <

Actually you can, (it's an PCI-E 2.0 GPU, but I'm afraid you may wanna change your PSU also)

Thanks Mark41.

It is a compact desktop from four years ago.

Maybe it is time to just replace it.

This is getting frustrating (especially since the game isn't out and nobody really knows how certain hardware is going run, or not run, the game).

My specs:

i7-920, oc'd to 3.6

msi gtx 970 100me

8gb ram

In some forums/sites I see folks saying an i7-920, especially oc'd, will do just fine, but in others, some say it's a pos, way under the minimum specs. And since the game isn't out, it's hard to know how CPU heavy the game is in the first place.

I just want 60fps (with dips of course) at 1080p . . .

I would wait, until the first benchmarks comes out, you can upgrade later anyway.

The witcher 3 is playable with an GTX 550Ti. (either 1280x1024 or 1600x900 (low)) on a i3.

Also the GTX 555 should have almost the same performance as the GTX 550Ti.

So, i advise you to wait...

I can only guess here, as you have an overclocked CPU.

From the results that i gathered, you should be fine. With your proceoosr at 3.6 you should be 20% below the CPU rec req.

So, yeah from my site, you should be fine. !!! http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?s=87f4c2a08d4dee61fad3d0b615e4a924&&app=forums&module=extras§ion=legends#

Hi there, I'm new here. Can I play it on this PC?

-Intel i3 4160 3.6 GHz (Dual Core)

-GTX 650 2GB

-16 GB RAM

Of course, I use W7 64-bit.

I'm a little worried about the CPU... I hope it's OK.

Thank you.

I think even the minimum spec is an i5...... which seems pretty demanding to me. Not to mention the 2gb vid card...... I think beth is going to be severely limiting their player base.

My opinion is that the cpu is fine. Its better than the phenom x4 945 and having it overclocked helps too.

IMO, the verdict on the more recent i3 CPUs is still out. I would think the hyperthreading on them will allow it to play the game fine.

Medium settings perhaps if the cpu runs well.

Sorry misread the GTX 650 on my cell phone...swore it read GTX 660. I'd have to change my assessment to low settings if the CPU allows.

With that system you meet just the minimum req. (what ever that means)

Also bear in mimd that's actually a dual core processor with hyper threading.

Not sure if this is the place to ask this, don't even know if anyone can answer. But could anyone who is good with computer building tell me if I can add a 750ti or amd equivalent to my pc?

I have a Gateway Dx4860 IPISB-VR, the motherboard is an Intel H67 with a sandy bridge chipset.

My current GPU is a AMD Radeon 5750 1gb

I have 8 gigs of ram and an intel i7 2600 3.4ghz processor.

Just wondering if a graphics card like the 750 ti will fit/be compatible with my motherboard.

Please be a little more precise ???

You have either a HD6850 or a HD6870.

The HD6850 has 1GB of VRAM, and the HD6870 has either 1GB or 2GB of VRAM
