Unofficial "Will My PC run Fallout 4?" Thread #5

You wanna unistall your Ati drivers first, reboot your system and make sure you plug the monitor into the Nvidia graphics card, and not the motherboard.

You should be able to set PCI-e as primary in the BIOS (or UEFI BIOS)

Great price for that card, and it will do just fine in fallout 4, i reckon you can play on atleast medium with really smooth performance.

However for 40 bucks more you can get a 9 series card, my personal favourite factory overclocked: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121980&cm_re=gtx_950-_-14-121-980-_-Product

comparison v 750ti http://gpuboss.com/gpus/GeForce-GTX-950-vs-GeForce-GTX-750-Ti (and thats against a reference 950, that asus 950 will have more than a 10% faster core clockspeed)

Thank you.. that is a great answer to my next question.. when and If I get it.. what is the recommendation of how to get good effective output.. I dont need all the bells and wistles.. but good game play with out having it keep stopping would be nice. had that before with fallout Vegas.. grrr...

Power supply is way to weak, under stress it will crap out on you, minimum i always recommend 500w for any build and increase if hardware demands it.

what i5 is it?

Power consumption on 750ti is 60w, however under load and in benchmarks i seen it nearly go 250% of that

(ref base power consumption) http://www.geforce.co.uk/hardware/desktop-gpus/geforce-gtx-750-ti/specifications

My specs -

MSI Motherboard

AMD 8350 FX 8 Core

Asus Radeon R9 270X

8 GB memory

Intel 120gb SSD

The only thing i am worried about is the graphics card, but not sure i have the money to replace it as of now.

What's your CPU btw ???

You may wanna go with an GTX 950 instead of the GTX 750Ti. (The GTX 750Ti is the bottom on entry-mainstream graphics cards)

But it will cost you 30 bucks more.

Check that out: http://www.amazon.com/Gigabyte-GeForce-GDDR5-Graphics-GV-N950OC-2GD/dp/B013XFK0R6/ref=sr_1_3?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1445977022&sr=1-3&keywords=GTX+950

Check those benchmarks too: https://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/MSI/GTX_950_Gaming/23.html

Thats a better deal than the one i posted, i'd go for this one if you want to keep budget low as possible (core clock is a bit lower, not that important), since you deffo gotta upgrade that PSU aswell.

Also: as thegreatsquare mentioned earlier, what's your Power supply...on that RIG: http://www.informatique.nl/201294/informatique-ingamer-playerone.html

You need a 1x 6 pin PCI-E connector from your PSU to your GPU (GTX 960)

So, this one: http://cdn.erodov.net/portal//reviews/guide/pci-e-connector/pci-e-power-connector-2.jpg

You need to be sure that everything works fine a 400 watt PSU. (as it is, your system including your GTX 960 consumes a little over 300 watt estimated)

Just be aware of this. !!!

It's supposed to be "Be Quiet! System Power 7 400 W" ... but if that is not what you mean (I'm a noob), I'm afraid I don't know...

My PS is only 240.. and the manufactures specs require at least 300w for the 750 card.. so.. not sure what I can do here.. hmm..

Shpuld be fine for medium settings..maybe some high mixed in.

Its a better than average unit. Should be sufficient and have the needed connections for the 960 upgrade, which doesnt require much power.
Is this an oem system? What model and make is it. In any case need to know what pc case form factor you got to see what can fit. Gonna have to upgrade that for a 750ti...240w is too little. The gtx 950 mentioned is better tho

If you upgrade to a new card, you need to replace that psu. without that psu it will crap out on ya.

http://www.amazon.com/EVGA-Continuous-Warranty-Supply-100-W1-0500-KR/dp/B00H33SFJU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1445978711&sr=8-1&keywords=500w+power+supply

39 bucks for a decent 500w one

According to the homepage that PSU has 2 PCI-E (6+2) pin connectors. So you are fine. !!!

Ok...you need to report back the make and model of your PC. Most standard off shelf systems come with a 300W psu at least. A system with a 240W psu has me wondering what form factor the case is and if its a small form factor or similar.

Because if it is small form, then you'll be very limited on what can be upgraded both psu and gpu-wise.

I'm afraid you are in the wrong section here. This topic is hardware related for the fallout 4 PC game... http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?s=5558e4a381b121dbdf4c7d79d83eb138&&app=forums&module=extras§ion=legends#

@LChevele

In addition to the above - if it's a small factor case you can't do anything about it. You need a new case. !!! http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?s=5558e4a381b121dbdf4c7d79d83eb138&&app=forums&module=extras§ion=legends#

Neither a ATX PSU will fit in there nor a GPU with the propotions of an GTX 750 Ti. (only a small factor GPU will fit in there)

If you have a few more bucks to spend - check out the GTX 970 - they are coming down in price and beats
The 750 ti - but it depends on what you want to spend

...also, spend a little more for a GTX 950 2GB or GTX 960 2GB if you can.
