So apparently Intel® Core™ i7-2600S CPU @ 2.80GHz isn't suitable for running Fallout 4? :(

Probably get some high settings with that.

At least medium, perhaps some high even.

Its suitable and falls within min and recommended. Whoever or whatever told you that its not is wrong. Your GPU is another question however since its not mentioned.

Okay, here we go:

Intel® Core™ i7-2600S CPU @ 2.80GHz

2.8 GHz

AMD Radeon HD 6570

8.2 GB ram

Yes, I'm planning on updating the graphics card. What I'm trying to work out is can I get away with just updating the card or do I need to look at getting a new computer (which I would like to avoid for a while longer).

Depending on which card you decide, you may need to upgrade your psu as well (power supply). What psu do you currently have?

Open up the case side panel. Read the label on the psu and report back brand and model number at the very least.

Should be fine for ultra probably if you indeed have 2 gtx 770 in sli. No telling how well the game scales with sli, but you should get some extra bandwidth with the 2nd card.

Totally not able to open but did search on model and it has Internal 300W (100V-240V). Is that what I'm looking for?

I was wondering if i could possibly run fallout 4 on low settings around 30fps. My gpu is not the best its a radeon HD 6670 with 1gb vram that my friend gave me. The only reason i ask this is i don't have the money to upgrade my gpu right now. And if i can't run it, would a Radeon R9 380 4gb vram be able to run it on medium/high settings 60fps?

My Specs
AMD FX 8320 overclocked to 4.4ghz
Radeon HD 6670 1gb vram

8gb RAM

monitor 720p

300W unit is kind of expected. Yea, id upgrade that as well if a new gpu is considered. What PC model did you look up?

For power supplies, seasonic, corsair, xfx, evga, antec (avoid basiq models tho), and silverstone are respectable vendors.

I can give a quick suggestion on upgrades if you have a budget in mind.

At 720p, you may be able to pull of low settings with the card.

A Radeon 380 would put you probably in ultra at that resolution. Makes sure your power supply is good enough for such an upgrade though.

Recommendations would be excellent, though I'll probably end up going to Best Buy, since Geek Squad will be doing the installing.

I walked a friend through a video card upgrade in 10 minutes on the phone last week, and he's never opened up a computer before. Plenty of people around here can help you if you decide to do it yourself. It's pretty easy.

Best Buy is probably the last place youd want to buy pc components from. They rarely have anything respectable in regards to pc hardware and prices.

Probably high settings at 1080p

So I am running an AMD Phenom X4 925 Processor at 2.8ghz, however, I also have 16 GB of ram... I am wondering if I will be fine to go ahead and run this game? Will my overabundance of RAM make up for the slower processor?

Uh no. The RAM doesnt make your cpu faster. Even though its under min reqs, its not that much under. CPU should still be fine, but without knowing your video card we cant tell you what settings youd get

Ok. So I shouldn't buy the stuff at Best Buy. So I'm going to (figuratively) put my wallet in your hands and ask for recommendation as to what to buy and where. I can then take everything and have Geek Squad install them. (I have their black tie service; they install things for free.)

Or point me toward a good machine?

Or both please?

Do you want a PSU or a whole new system?

You can get a Corsair CX600 [600w] for ~$69 at bestbuy. The 500w is just $3 less there and 600w will surely any single GPU system. Bestbuy carries a lot of PC components and like newegg and amazon they have "marketplace sellers". They do cost more than newegg and amazon, so bestbuy is nobody's first choice for PC equipment.

...If you'r talking new system, what's the budget?

Youre probably looking at medium settings with that then

I dont think you need a new machine...just a gpu and psu upgrade.

Again though, what is your budget for both?

And for checking sake, what is the model of your pc? Need to be sure we have a pc here that takes a gpu and psu that can fit in.
