How do you guys think AMD FX-4300 would do in F04? I'm giving my brother my old R9-290 gpu for christmas but I'm worried about that cpu being a bad bottleneck for him

It will bottleneck the Radeon 290 a bit, but I'd imagine he'd still get high settings at least. He shouldn't complain since its a free card to him.

You are correct Sir. According to the manufacturers website it is indeed clocked @1600 Mhz. I have the option to upgrade the CPU and RAM, which I probably will do in future, unfortunately the mobo only supports two RAM slots.

And no, I prefer to not overclock. I want this PC to hold for at least three years from now.

Good to hear it might support ultra settings...:)

There's not much to upgrade on from an i7 4790 where'd you'd see a worthwhile difference unless you intend to get a K series chip and overclock it a lot. Even then though, it's not significant.
