If you're on the Windows 7 your PC will get most of the updates for you automatically (through Windows Updates)

CPU: AMD Phenom? II X4 965 Black Edition Quad-Core CPU
HDD: 1TB SATA-III 6.0Gb/s 7200RPM Hard Drive
MEMORY: 4GB (2x2GB) PC10666 DDR3/1333mhz Dual Channel Memory
MOTHERBOARD: Asus M5A99X EVO AMD 990X Chipset
VIDEO: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 Ti 1GB

how will this do for skyrim? Medium would do, because thats roughly PS3/360 standards, right?

Tell me what you guys think, low medium or high?

Samsung widescreen running 1360 x 768 Resolution
Gateway Desktop, bought in 2006, runs Vista 32 bit, upgraded with additional RAM and a new GPU a couple years back.

Specifics:
GPU: Nvidia 9600 GT with 1GB V-RAM
CPU: AMD Athlon 64 x2 Dual Core running at 3.0 GHZ
3GB RAM

I would say low to medium settings.

I know this will run Skyrim -

i7 980 six core 3.33 GHz 12 MB Cache
6GB DDR3 @ 1600 MHz
Nvidia GeForce GTX580
1TB - STA-II 3 Gb/s 7200 RPM 32 MB cache
liquid cooling etc.

This'll be good enough for really high settings?

Pfffft don't like posts like this, its like asking if a Bucatti Veyron is capable of going past the speed limit on the freeway :( Its just showing off, I understand you are proud of your system but is so obvious that rig will run Skyrim maxed on in Full-HD that it is silly even asking. Glad you or you Mother have money :(

I am looking at buying a new Gaming Laptop in the next couple of weeks for Skyrim and need some feedback if possible from some knowledgeable folks!

I was looking at this, the new Asus G74 Gaming laptop which is selling here in Australia with 2 variations, one which has 8GB of DDR3 1333mhz Ram, and 2 750GB 7200rpm Harddisks's; while the other sports 16GB of DDR3 1333mhz Ram and 2 X 500GB Solid State Hybrid Harddisks instead. Both have the same Video Processor, (GTX560M 3GB GDDR5 VRAM), the same CPU (Intel? Core? i7 2630QM) and the same Full HD display (17.3" 16:9 HD+ Full HD 3D(1920x1080 120Hz) ), and keyboard layout.

G74SX-FHD-TZ130V

http://www.jbhifi.com.au/computers/asus/17-inch-notebook-sku-70310/ (the HD's are listed wrong in the summary it is actually 2 X750GB drives as listed above)

Asus G74SX-FHD-TZ048V

Product Page

Now I would LOVE to be able to game in 1920X1080 and this laptop promises full HD gaming but who knows how demanding Skyrim is going to be? The difference in price between the 2 G74 versions is around 400 dollars btw, obviously the version with more RAM and 2 Solid State Hybrid Harddisks is more expensive!

What do you guys think, will this be sufficient for Skyrim?

Thanks!

Sorry, didn't mean to upset you. I wanted to be sure since I'm relatively [censored] when it comes to figuring how what specs will run certain aspects of games.

And I do have to send some <3 to my mother for helping fund my PC habit.

Heys guys, I'm new around here, so hi to you all.

I have the game ordered for PS3 but after reading about mods etc it seems PC is the platform of choice for Skyrim.

Unfortunately I only have a laptop as I rarely use it for gaming.

It's fairly new though, but I don't know much about specs etc, so I hope you can help me.

Its an Asus N53S

Intel Core I7 2630 QM 2.0 GHz

6 GB Ram

500 GB HDD

Nvidia Geforce GT 540M Cuda 1 GB

I think that's correct, and everything I need to post. Let me know if it's not and i'll fix it.

So what do you think? Can I run it?

@ 720p, sure. You should do at least as well as the demo footage.

....a 560 TI should crush the game. It's not like it's Crysis 3, or something.

Hi there, thanks in advance for your help!

My specs:

Packard Bell
imedia S3810
Intel core i5 cpu, 650 @ 320 Ghz
RAM: 4GB DDR3
Windows 7 64bits?
Nvidia Gforce GT 320
LG Widescreen Tv HD-ready 1360x768

My questions are:

-Since I can't afford any upgrades, should I buy the game for Xbox or PC?
-Will this build allow for high, medium or low settings?
-Will "most" future mods be playable with this PC?

Again, thanks for your help! :foodndrink:

Great thanks, so you think this will be at least as good as what I could get with the PS3 then?
