will this do?

Processor Intel? Core? i5-650 Processor
- 3.20 GHz
RAM - 4 GB
- DDR3
- 1333 MHz
Graphics card NVIDIA? GeForce? GT 320
- up to 2815 MB total available graphics memory, with 1 GB dedicated
Hard drive 1 TB, 7200 RPM

That graphics card is seriously putting down your system. It is equivalent to a nvidia 7950 gt.

It depends on the resolution but you should play it on medium settings with no problems.

Is there a site like that for AMD cards?

There are tons of sites for that
Ex:
3dGuru
Tomshardware

What would a budget for GPU and CPU upgrade be? I may have to stay in the 4k or 5k series as my PSU is not big enough (I think, how do you find it again? I looked inside and it was confusing) but definitely a CPU upgrade (Intel motherboard, 775 LGA) without going overboard. I was thinking maybe $500-$600?

Also, when I looked inside my PC for the PSU, it was a bit confusing but I think it said 250w power supply, but the GPU I have requires 300 but it works fine, did I read the sticker right?

Thanks in advance

It's that thing the plug comes out of, probably at the back of the PC at the top somewhere, might have to take it out to see the label with the specs though.

The 525M is a mid range mobile GPU, it's about on par with the desktop 5570. With that said you should be able to get medium settings at moderate resolution.

when people say "medium" do they include AA as medium also?

No, you might be able to get away with like 2xAA or maybe 4xAA depending on what resolution your playing at.

How viable is AMD for a gaming rig that can max every game on the market?
Is there one CPU that shines above the rest for AMD?

I looked at some AMDs on newegg, and they were significantly cheaper than any of the i5 or i7 CPUs.

Can anyone recommend a good AMD CPU?

I think he means -- 30 fps at max settings and over 60 frams at medium-high. At least, that's what I'm getting.

But either way, you'll be fine with that setup.

I heard the the higher your resolution is, the lower your AA should be. Am I correct

You'll be able to run the game on max settings on 1920x1080 with constant 30+ Frames Per Second, but I'm not so sure if you'll be able to run it on constant 60 FPS .
PS: I have a very very similar rig .....

@Kosai Avonej .
I have the exact same CPU and the equivalent ATI GPU , you'll probably be able to run it just as well as ApocolypticBosmer .

Not sure what you are currently using but you can spend a LOT of money upgrading a CPU+GPU when you factor in other parts (motherboard, psu). What are you currently using?

We have already been over this same ground. A GT 320 is still just a GT 320, same as when it was just asked maybe a day ago in this thread. Yes, it will "run" the game when it comes out, bit it's just not going to do so at high settings at all. That's what you (someone, maybe you) already asked, and we already answered it (if not you, then for another of the uncertain ones with a different proposed setup every few days they can't make up their minds about).

this will do it better hope

PROCESSOR Intel? Core? i5-2310 Processor (2.90GHz, 6MB)
MEMORY 4096MB Dual Channel DDR3 1333MHz [2x2048] Memory
HARD DRIVE 1TB Serial ATA (7,200 rpm)
GRAPHICS CARD Graphics : 1GB AMD Radeon HD

There have been 50-60 different HD Radeons since the first of them some years ago, and the RAM attached is meaningless compared to the things that actually do count, such as core speed, shader processor count, RAM speed, and memory system bandwidth.

Hey guys,

I'm looking to build my first computer to be able to run this game on max. This is the build that was suggested to me, mind telling me what you think?

CPU: AMD A8-3850 Quad Core 2.9GHz

GPU: Gigabyte AMD Radeon HD 6770 (775MHz)

8GB RAM

Thanks

Hello there people. I am getting Skyrim for my 360 at first, but then will get a new computer for Christmas.

The specs of this computer are on http://www.bestbuy.com/site/HP+-+Pavilion+Desktop+/+AMD+Athlon%26%23153%3B+II+Quad-Core+Processor+/+6GB+Memory+/+1TB+Hard+Drive/2670319.p?id=1218343206257&skuId=2670319 except I am going to replace the graphics card with a ATI Radeon 5670 that I already bought.

I'm just not sure about the processor, yes I know it's quad core, but I heard the game only will utilize two, so I guess I have some concern about that. If you have any other (better) suggestions, they would be much appreciated, as long as they're in the same price range, I really can't go much higher than that as there are about three other people in my household who want things as well.

So if you could, will this run Skyrim and most other games that come out after that? I would like to play on High, or at least medium settings on all my games, at least better than 360.

Is it best to get an AMD processor if I get an AMD Graphics card? Does it make a difference? What are the general opinions on AMD vs. Intel?

Doesn't matter. Don't need to match AMD cards with AMD CPUs. Get the best performance for your money.

Responded with a PC build in the Tech topic for you. Should look at it as I'm sure you'll like it:

Doesn't Intel cycle its socket types ridiculously often compared to AMD though? If you get a socket AM3+ CPU and motherboard you can upgrade to something much better than that i5-2500k eventually. That's not really the case if you get the i5, is it?

While Intel has been cycling a lot, LGA 1155 has a decent future ahead of it with support for Intel's upcoming Ivy Bridge CUs next year. But a 2500K Sandybridge is so powerful of a CPU, I can't really see a need to upgrade for a while.

Will likely max out this game too.

Rather wait for a AMD Bulldozer chip rather than a Llano one. Or go for a 2500K unless you have a tight budget or something.

Video card is alright, but the Radeon 6850 or 6870 are much better.

The 5670 is at best a mid-range card. With that PC, you're looking at probably medium and some high settings maybe.

Thanks for the help. So with 2500k and a 6850 I should be able to run max?

Also I'm not sure if this is the right place for this but how would the motherboard affect performance?

Thanks again
