I'd love to have a PC that could play Skyrim but I don't have a clue where to look because most PCs sold by places like Dixons and PC world are overall rubbish unless you get the ￡1000+ ones.

Can anyone link me to a decent PC that could possibly play Skyrim without being too costly?

I run Oblivion maxed with Qarl's Texture Pack III and 147 other mods at 70fps though. But yeah, I'm definitely looking into upgrades. The 6870 looks nice.

I've heard it's actually better to get two 4870s in Crossfire as opposed to even getting something as powerful as a 6970.

Yepper, I looked at that one.

But I went a couple of notches lower, and still will be able to do the job.

I really liked that board though for sure, Very Nice.

I went with the one I got because I think when it comes time to upgrade I will most likely just add another video card which mine and your will both allow us to surely do.

OK, still not the point of the build. He wanted something well under ￡1000.

It looks like Nvidia are going to refresh current offering on the 28nm before moving to Kepler, AMD 7000 series also seems to face a delay as well due to difficulties with the move to 28nm.

In a couple of cases, zero change. AMD's two Fabs, Global and TMSD, failed to deliver 32 nm technology a year ago. Everything that AMD had ready to go was for the new thinner wafers, and suddenly they were stuck with 40 nm again, and almost nothing they planned could be transferred, with the exception of the HD 69xx designs. They had to re-engineer, and accept a lesser improvement in order to have a new generation of GPUs at all, and the Bulldozers were delayed nearly a year as a result.

The HD 6750 and HD 6770 are totally unchanged in performance from the HD 5750 and HD 5770. There is some added functionality, but no change in the way that they perform.

Will Skyrim be as CPU/GPU intensive as Fallout 3/NV on max settings? I can play both on max with my HD 5770 fine. If you need any more specs I can give them.

I've got a Core i3 2100 @ 3.1Ghz with HT enabled 'only', but this CPU is still fast enough for Skyrim :celebration:
