So uh, in WoW I am a Dwarf hunter, level seven. I can make some good money from killing level eight - nine creatures, skinning them, selling the loot, but between that and doing quests I can never seem to get more than five silver. Any tips? And I only ever seem to be able to find leather armor and mail armor. Is there metal armor?

Hunters can wear mail at level 40. Paladins, Death Knights, and Warriors can wear plate armor at level 40. Questings a good way to get cash, and it's a lot less painful to level your professions as you level, so you shouldn't sell the materials unless you're really strapped for cash. Do you use the auction house for the materials? A stack of low level stuff goes for about 1 gold.

Hey Area 52 is on my Battlegroup! Retaliation, when I hit 80 with my Priest we might get a group if you do randoms :D

And yes... we don't like to group with A52's...

Outlands had me grouped with a DK "tank" in every dungeon (mostly from Area 52). In every dungeon. I wanted to scream every time. And I have finally seen a Blood DK tank work, at level 73. Not at 60... people need to stop being so "unique" it just makes it more expensive after I get out to repair my armor.

Also, our trade chat is decently paced, but I wouldn't mind that speed. The other day people were talking about how best to [censored] and then eat babies. Often they bash homosixuals, females, and democrats. They also spam those annoying faces of text, and there always seems to be that one guy who sits in Orgrimmar all day and all he does is shoot down other peoples question or criticize something they want to sell. My "favorite" is when you post something and they copy and paste your items in and undercut it by like a gold coin or something ridiculous. I used to leave trade A LOT. Its calmed down, probably due to school starting for some. I know I wont be on as much come the end of this month.

Also, Randoms can't really carry me through 1-80 now that I hit northrend. Now that each level requres more than 1 million xp each go, its necessary to do quests. Which is fine, Shadow helps me do that, and doing the Horde Expedition ones will help get me a cheap artisan flying lesson. Which would be SO nice.

Thats my Horde Belf Priest. Belletrix level 73, soon to be 74. She's my lil pet project. I have tailoring real high on her but enchanting fell behind. I couldn't be bothered at the time lol.

I finally bought my artisan riding training.... at level 70, without WotLK. What a pain.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WWRNJe4nxqI is the video, it's just a silly thing I threw together in about 5 minutes, nothing special. I just thought it was funny, and I don't know of any other trade chat videos on youtube, so I figured why not. :P
Make sure you watch it in 720p HD, to get the best clarity to see the trade chat window.

That is insane!! :o I've never seen it so bad before.

On my Horde realm there's been http://i35.tinypic.com/351znlh.jpg (sorry about poor quality pic) using some sort of flying hack to float in the air and form a URL. They mostly got rid of them for now. I've also had to install Badboy to stop the trade spam. It automatically reports spammers which is really useful.

Forget skinning. It'll make you low money at low levels.

Mining is where it's at. A stack of 20 Copper Bars on the servers I've played on recently have gone for anywhere between 4-7 Gold.

This. And if you stick with mining till Northrend and level it up you can start mining the good stuff. I'm not 100% sure how you get it (I never leveled a miner all the way up) but once you can get/make Primordial Saronite you will be ROLLING in cash. You had better hope that lasts.

I have trouble getting work as a tailor too, which is annoying because I feel like my skill is high enough to help most people below 70, and I'm getting a lot of Northrend material too. I guess people just don't need them as much as plate wearers need BS's.

Also, I don't really like it, but does anyone here skip bosses in dungeons? And if so why? I was doing randoms last night and we skipped Hadronox in AN and Jedoga in OK... just seems counter productive to getting nice loot.

Just downloaded the trial and I'm thinking about possibly continuing with it... Which brings up this question:

Any advice for a new player? :P

Right now I'm a rogue but I'm thinking about changing that if I'm going to continue to play. So... Any advice?

Rogues are cool, but die rather easily while soloing quests and stuff. I would recommend learning Herbalism and Alchemy as professions so you can make health potions to survive and sell the mana potions you don't need.
I would recommend trying different classes to find the one you like. Paladins, druids and hunters are good classes to solo with.

Also what race is your rogue? I know the race don't really matter but the Night Elf rogue is the exception. With The Night elfs Shadow Meld you have a chance to escape from battle before getting vanish by using Shadow Meld then using stealth. It's also a good backup if Vanish is still on cooldown

Too many points in your shadow tree. http://www.wowarmory.com/character-talents.xml?r=Anvilmar&cn=Thecount&gn=No+Way+Out. http://www.wowarmory.com/character-talents.xml?r=Anvilmar&cn=Blameme has a build around pvp mobility dropping improved Mind Blast for a silence and a disarm. When I leveled mine up these two helped me out immensely. They are alts of people I used to run with.

Just to clarify:
Primordial Saronite cannot be mined, and you can't make it. It drops from ICC bosses, or bought with 23 frost badges per.
Saronite is what can be mined.
You can make items OUT of Primordial Saronite, but others have to come to you with their Prim Sar to do so. Those patterns also only drop in ICC.
The big ticket item in Northrend is Titanum. That stuff sells very expensive, for use in crafting AND prospecting for gems. Stack of Titanium Ore goes for hundreds of gold on my server.

I'm a night elf. :)

I'm kinda looking for something that can use either guns/bows and arrows with some sword on the side, or the other way around.

Also what faction will the Worgen be once cataclysm comes out?

Worgens will be Alliance. :)
And Hunters use bows, but they don't generally melee at all. They let their pet melee, and they stand back and fire on the mobs with their guns, bows, or crossbows.
They USE swords, axes, and maces (I think maces), or 1 handed swords/daggers/etc, usually a 2h weapon though, just for the stats. Hunters use Agility, Attack Power, and Armor Penetration as their main stats. A little intellect for their mana, but come Cataclysm, hunters wont use mana anymore. They will use "Focus". The hunter mechanic is being changed a lot..
But yeah, Hunters are the ranged physical class with a pet. They are fun, and easy to level. They also do good DPS.

ArP is only for hunters that go MM and are very, very geared. At least when you start raiding. AP is more for BM hunters, because pets benefit from their master's AP. Otherwise stick with agility and go survival :D That is what my hunter is, only I don't play anymore!
