So is there a reason we have so many players on this forum, but no guild for it?

Well, I'm already in a guild that I raid with, can't just leave them.
Also another reason is most players are on different servers.
There used to be a guild for the forums, had about 10 or so people in it, but it didn't go anywhere, people stopped playing, eventually it just ceased to exist.

It's not too hard to just make a casual guild on another server to play every once in a while for fun.

Yeah most people are already established on different servers, I'm not going to leave Twilight's Hammer any time soon, and even though I'm guildless at the moment I'm going guildhunting once Cataclysm is getting closer, I might even form a guild, though most of my friends are in one of the best on our server which unfortunately didn't have any spots left at the time we went back to Alliance, and I was wearing crap at the time :P

But yeah bottom line is, I'm not leaving Twilight's Hammer unless something happens to it or all my friends decide to change servers, which is unlikely.

Because that would only work if there was only one universal server, not 50+.

Yeah, that too. I think there are almost 200 servers now.

Why? I know people on different forums who picked a server and started a secondary guild to level up with and have fun. Why does that require universal servers. Other than the EU/US thing, there's no problem.

You're not taking into consideration peoples schedules; I don't have the time to start another toon on a different realm with no gold and no heirlooms, that'd take way to long and I despise the 1-60 leveling process. I have things to do on my server with my mains raiding schedule, my alt 80's, and the toon I'm leveling right now. I really can't pack anymore WoW into my schedule.

I really wish Blizzard added different payment options for their character services.

I want to change my blood elf to a troll but I need a damn credit card. :( I'd totally use paypal if I could.

Neither can I really. Live servers bore me at the moment, so I'm not playing much except doing ICC10 every week (usually). School will be starting for me soon which will mean I'll have even less time, and the Beta takes up all my WoW playing right now. In addition to that I need to study the theory for driving lessons that I stupidly didn't finish two years ago, so I need to somehow work out school, driving lessons, studying traffic theory and hopefully have some free time, I probably won't even play the Beta that much at that point.

I'd like to take part in a BGSF guild, but I simply don't have the time.

As for the Beta, the download finished tonight and it works, except that talents keep resetting so I lose the ability to dual wield as a fury warrior, and I'll lose Mortal strike if I spec arms, I don't know why the talents do this. Good news though, the Worgen's fangs have been fixed so I now look http://a.imageshack.us/img814/5518/wowscrnshot080610065419.jpg http://a.imageshack.us/img842/2313/wowscrnshot080610065423.jpg (With the exception of the ugly warrior BoA gear :P )

Is it possible for a level 70 character to get started with raids? I've never done one before, but there are a few I'd like to do for the items and the lore.

Yes, you can do Burnign Crusade raids, though finding a group may be tricky, and you'll likely have quite a few well geared 80's that will make anything but the Sunwell a complete cakewalk. I would recommend going straight to 80, the loot you get in 70 raids is worthless compared to quest rewards in Northrend honestly so you're better off levelling, but yeah, you can enter BC and Vanilla raid instances provided you have a group.

I don't have WotLK yet so I'm stuck at 70 for a while. :P

How can I tell which raids I'm strong enough to do, and how does one typically find a group for a low level raid?

Yeah, tactics and CC is something that people these days don't even know about, back in vanilla we wiped if we tried to just faceroll through an instance. These days all you need is a tank, a healer and a mage to use blizzard.

You can raid at 70 Nami, I don't know what server you are on but my server has BC raids going weekly, there is even a few guilds of 60 only toons, and 70 only toons that do nothing but raid vanilla and BC raids. They are twink guilds of sorts, but for raiding, not pvp. I'm thinking of turning off XP on my warlock once I hit 70 (i'm 66 atm) and raiding some BC instances and getting full tier 5 before leveling up again. Warlock tier 5 is without a doubt the coolest set of armor in the game, IMO.
But yeah, if your server is anything like mine you can say "LFG BT" in trade and you should get an invite or at least a whisper.

BT is the Black Temple right? Could I even do such a raid without proper gear?

If it's got a few 80s in it, yeah. I've 5 manned all of BT with all 80's. Granted, they were good players who had cleared it in BC like myself.
If the raid is a bunch of 70's and no 80's, then no, you'd probably have to get some better gear. The gear/tier progression in BC went like this:
Karazhan>Gruuls Lair>Magtheridons Lair>Serpentshrine Cavern>Zul'Aman>Tempest Keep>Battle for Mount Hyjal>Black Temple>Sunwell Plateau.

QFT

I've been running a lot of the early instances with alts, mainly mages, and 99% of the time it's just heirlooms and raid mechanics. I LOL at the tanks who think they can run through the whole place and pull everything at once when it's obvious they can't (right before I accidentally DC and miss the wipe), like in SM. Most of the time that doesn't turn out well. And when there's a geniune new person, it's not often when the group slows down and plays more conventionally, so the new person can learn how groups and roles work. Right now, most new people think there'll always be an 80's alt to coast them through the place, then when they have to actually DO something other than dps, they have no idea how.

And yeah, since I'm nearly always on a frost mage, I pretty much just spam blizzard most of the time. My funnest times are when the ass hat tank ditches, and the healer jumps into feral form and says "we can do this if we pull slow." That's when I actually have to think about what I'm doing! So far it's happened in Shadowfang and ZF, but the other night I was in DM East, and when the tank left, the DK stepped in and helped us get through there.

I'm sure it's not the same as the vanilla experiences, but it's still way better than just running through as fast as possible.

Well, those are the only customisation options available at the moment, all Worgen players look exactly the same. Once more options are opened up in the Beta I'll gladly create ten or more Worgen to show you some more varied combinations, I'm hoping it's possible to be a completely white Worgen, it should be since there are white Worgen mobs running around, if not then I'll just go for black or gray.

My lock is now almost 71 and in Northrend..never quested as horde in Northrend, it seems to be pretty fun. I honestly have to say I'm enjoying it a lot more than Alliance.
