Well my sub ended today. Not sure when I'll resub.

Made it to 75 which is pretty good I guess for being my first toon.

Why not resub? It's fun. DO IT. BTW, I only made the thread because you weren't online, I figured people wouldn't have a place to post so I just went ahead and made it.

But seriously, you should resub. You think the games fun at 75, wait till you can raid man, it's so much better than grinding quest. Just 5 more levels to go then the game literally starts for you.

Lol. I would but I'm currently 17 with no money and no job.

Also doesn't help that school is starting soon, won't have any time since I have football. :P

I'll resub as soon as I can.

Slacker! lol

Been meaning to find this out: regarding the new goblin area, what happens to the furbolgs in Azshara? Since I first found the Timbermaw Hold there, and saw that huge closed gate, I've wondered if there'd ever be some sort of furbolg dungeon.

Got my mage to 61. I've been doing nothing but Blood Furnace which levels me every 2 runs. I'm actually trying to get the robes in BF and the staff in Ramps but I know the staff is a low droprate.

I've been hesitant of trying the OL dungeons -- how are they for a first-timer? Will I get my ass handed to me if I don't read up first, or can I just jump right in? I want that stuff for my mage too, but some bad BRD and DM runs have me leery of being the newb (not because I was new, but someone else was, and they turned into a major liability).

I've played through Azshara on a Goblin, and I didn't notice anything with the Furbolgs except for one really cool quest chain that involves you sabotaging an alliance between the Furbolgs and Night Elves, basically turning the Furbolgs against both sides, rather than allying with one.

That's all I've got.

Got my shaman to 80 on Sunday. Bad thing is that I bought and crafted a few epics to get me started and I ended up with 65g left. I don't have enough to enchant or gem my gear

They really nerfed the dungeons there where all but the most inept group of DK's and one healer would probably wipe. Really, you have to try to fail in an OL dungeon to wipe. I jump into BF and Ramps like its nothing cause honestly, they aren't hard and they are relatively short. Ramps only has 2 things to remember, on the first boss, KILL HEALERS first, don't even waste time on hte boss unless your dps is so overpowered you down him in like 5 seconds. And on the last boss, don't stand in the fire. Thats good practice for Nrend dungeons since that seems to be the standard of all of them, whether they are black voids of necromantic origin or just flames spewed by a dragon.

Also, don't just drop group if you do get more than 2 Death Knights, try to help. I helped a tanking DK learn Frost and how it is the best tank spec, and there were 2 others there an Unholy and Blood DK. Whats truly nice, even though it may sound a little greedy, is that if something drops you can use, chances are with 2-4 DK's (if you are healing, as I was) anything that drops that you can use is pretty much yours.

But, I should warn you that the dungeons in Auchindoun, like Sethekk Halls and the SL will own you if you aren't prepared, but its not like a research project. Just ask your tank or healer, since most of the time, they will know. DPS tend to be primarily unfamiliar players, but I have met very informed DPS before.

Actually, Blood will be the new dedicated tanking spec in Cata as far as I can tell, frost is a good dual wield dps spec already, and seemingly becomes a pure dps spec in Cata, as is Unholy.

A friend of mine plays as a dual wielding frost DK as his primary dps spec.

Awesome to know, thanks  I've just now started running into DKs, I'd almost forgotten they exist lol

All three times were level 58s in DM East: first one tanked, did a fair job, and because he wasn't overdoing it everyone was glad to help him as best we could; second tanked as well, but hadn't even spent any talent points yet (wtf? seriously??), pulled EVERYTHING, and we kicked him after only two fights; the third was DPS and knew what to do in a group, made me very happy. After that first group I checked with some DKs because I wanted to be sure his problems holding aggro weren't due to me, so now I know to feel...well, less uncomfortable...when they're at least 60.

A bit of a rant inbound...

So, I've been playing like crazy this Summer, wanting to get a character to 80 at long last. I've gotten a Priest to 76 and it was all going dandy until I typed "/played". That's an entire week of my life that I've wasted playing this game on that character alone. I've thought about it and I've decided I wasn't even playing for the right reasons, I was only playing to get to 80 and then just to find better and better gear. Where's the sense of adventure, or the joy of exploring a massive world? There's literally neither of those things in WoW.

So, as I'm sure you can guess, I've made the decision to stop playing. I ain't preaching about the unholyness of WoW and how it's sin to play, etc, etc - but rather I'm just stating what I feel.

My realm is down for 24 hour maintenance

Finally got lava burst on my http://eu.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Saurfang&cn=Militant&gn=Legacy. So much fun blowing stuff up with it, especially when you know you're getting a guaranteed crit (as long as flame shock is on the target). I'm questing in Dragonblight at the moment, I think it's my favourite NR zone. I love the way it looks, the music, everything.

And I'll second the above about Auchindon dungeons, they can really catch you out if you're not careful. A bad pull in there and it gets real nasty. Talon King Ikiss can be fun with his arcane volleys and when he blinks to you and arcane blasts you for 5k.

Edit: I know how you feel Blueone. Sometimes when I'm playing I think "What am I DOING?" But then something awesome or funny happens and I'm addicted again :hehe:

I hear you Blueone. I am considering just quitting since what a 24 hour lock down has become an almost 3 day lock out. I can't even access Battle.net, and needless to say I'm annoyed. I have friends in the game who might not realize whats happened and the fact I'm not in to tell them yet is wearing me out.

I don't know if its realistic yet, but they need to find a way to catch hackers efficiently, because these problems are going to start costing them more in the long run with lost customers and whoever doesn't play in the future due to those who speak about their experience. I know a lot of security is supposed to be on the account holders side, but it feels like Blizzard leaves you to the dogs. This ridiculous Authenticator should be free too, IMO, something to help preserve the integrity of their game should not be a money sink, it just reeks of greed.

I have sent two emails to Blizzard, and am about to call them, this isn't the end of the world, but I spent money on this and it feels like a waste.

I honestly don't agree with the argument "I've sat in front of this screen for x hours on x toon".
Yeah, what if you could type /played for real life things? Watching TV? Playing other games? Fact of the matter is, you choose to spend your time on what you want, and no one can tell you otherwise.
Also, there is a lot of exploration and things to find in the world of Azeroth, Outlands, and Northrend. I've explored 90% of the world in 5 years and I have to say doing that was one of the funnest times I've had playing the game. The content isn't what is in question, it's your motives. There are millions of people that WoW makes them want to explore its' game world. Just because you aren't one of them doesn't mean it's a problem with the game.

I decided to reinstall and start a Deathknight. Only class I've not tried. I'm doing a Dwarf one. So far it's pretty cool. It's strange to start at 55, though, and have no talents and minimal spells - and on top of that, have to learn the ones I do have because I've no idea what they do.

DK's are very easy to get into I think, but don't dismiss them as an easy class if you want to play optimally, rotations are very important with that particular class. You'll get talents through quests and you won't really have that many abilities to think about in the end, it's all about using the ones you do have in the exact right way.

Deathknights were fun for like the first few weeks, but the novelty wore off quickly. I'm really into my mage right now. I want to level a priest too but I abore the 1-58 grind.

Yeah DK's definitely aren't "easy". It's easy to play a DK. It's hard to play a DK effectively.
For instance, the unholy dps rotation. It's pretty complicated. Something like:
IT>PS>BS>BS>SS>DC>HoW>DC>BS>SS and then repeat. That's a pretty lengthy rotation, probably the most difficult to memorize that I know.

Mages are sweet, I love Frost, but sadly mines not level 30 yet.

On the Priest I recommend Dungeon running as much as possible, especially if you have BoA gear. Saves you that much time, honestly. Most of your time questing is actually taken up by running to where you have to be and back, whereas in Dungeons your constantly in action and earning good experience. Of course you would have to heal if you wanted a decent queue time, since DPS in randoms wait about 20 minutes to get in. And Shadow is fun, but its a cop out dps, I feel its not as viable as say, a mage. Theres the usual gamut of damage increasing talents, but you'll quickly notice that the unique end talent is svcktastic compared to... Frostfire... Moonkin... Chaosbolt... Penance even! Dispersion is cool, don't get me wrong, but its nothing to increase your dps, all it does is save your ass, which other classes already can do and probably five times better. There should be a talent simply called "Shadow Missile" or somethign which just adds another spell. I'm currently spamming Mind Flay, Mind Blast and Vampiric Touch as well as dotting. (Devouring Plague only affects one target at a time >.>). Thats why I only have Shadow as my off spec, and focus on Disc as my main spec.

Which reminds me, anyone ever entered RDF, and then that cool little sound plays that indicates you've found a group, only to click Accept and see that ONE dps hasn't clicked Accept? And then they NEVER do. It just annoys me on slow days when queue times are obnoxiously long, and it finally shows up, that the one dps doesn't click. And then I was thinking about the irony of it, Tanks get instant queue's right? Healers can get instant to about an average of say 5 minutes. But DPS still sits around a 20 minute wait, give or take a few minutes, but that one dps who doesn't accept has to start all over again. Why? Because either they were AFK, glitched, or even on the most off chance chance, malevolent and intent on messing with other leveling dps.

Yeah that was what I tried to get across, DK's are easy to play but hard to master.

The reason DKs are hard to master is there really is no rotation. It's priority based on situation. Just like a Shadow Priest.

My posts seem to swell to epic sizes and I think my original thought gets devoured by whatever else I think of. But you basically sum up what I was saying about Spriests here. Even though I still feel like the only viable specs for a Priest are Disc and Holy, Shadow is still worth a try for anyone interested (and a must if your not using random dungeons to level).

What about Mages, I used to hear Fire wasn't viable at all but now its ok? What happened, did they get buffed in a patch? And the million dollar question, will Paladins ever be nerfed so they actually enter the realm of fair?

Right now Paladins aren't really that huge of a power house, as far as PvP goes in Arena's. A good rogue or warrior can counter them, just like any other class.
