So is there any point in getting BC if I'm not even level 60 yet?

Would you like to play as a blood elf? Or a goofy space goat? (Dranei)

Oh yeah forgot about that.

Nope, I'm good then.

I'll be buying a 60 day card soon so hopefully I can get my pally to an 80 before Cata is released.

You'll have plenty of time, if Cata is released before the final quarter of this year, I'll be stunned...happy, but stunned.

So we still haven't heard a firm release date?

Well hopefully it's sometime this fall.

No release date made public yet. Though some prototype pictures of the female worgen was posted recently, I didn't love it, but it's a WIP so I'm sure it'll look better in the final product. I'm betting it'll be out around christmas.

Yeah, something like November, I was thinking early to mid 2011 at first, but with all the new content that's been revealed and leaked (All the stuff mined from the alpha client was removed from MMO-Champion by Blizzard request by the way, so if you haven't seen those model pictures I linked earlier you're out of luck.) I'm thinking that we'll probably see it this year.

Knowing Blizzard though, it will get delayed if there's a serious issue, which is a good thing, too many developers release rushed games, but it looks good for the time being.

I got http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Anvilmar&cn=Kolia up to 80. My first alliance character to do so. I got a Avool's Sword of Jin drop while doing a quest in Storm Peaks. Helped pay for my wrist armor. First time I actually got an epic world drop in two years of playing.

Congratulations, how much did you sell it for?

I got the Battered Hilt a while back when I was doing FoS just for the daily frost emblems, and seeing as there's no tank version of that sword I made 10K off it :) That helped me craft my new legs and chest armor when added to all the money I'd already farmed, check my armory if interested, my gear still needs a lot of work but it's getting there :)

The main problem with playing as a tank is that people who make groups tend to be morons who only think health is important, so even though I'm defense capped and have good avoidance, as well as about 40k HP fully raid buffed, I still don't get invites just because my unbuffed health is apparently too low for their healers to handle. Even though I can easily do it with my friends. The fact that people think tanks only need health is getting really annoying as of late, it forces tanks to get a huge amount of gear crafted and spend a lot of cash or a lot of time desperately trying to find a group to gear up, at this point nobody wants you unless you've got about 40k HP unbuffed, which is ridiculous. I've got about 36K now, and that's more than enough for most raids, except maybe ICC.

I got http://www.wowhead.com/item=2164/gut-ripper off a mob in the DK starting area a couple of weeks ago. I sold it in the AH for 195g.

I sold it for 1250g. Only paid 1400g for the i245 wrists. 150g for tier 9 gear isn't bad at all.

I agree about the health thing. It gets ridiculous. I remember people having fits about a guy I ran with that had around 22k hp in heroics. He was past defense cap and no one could pull mobs off of him unless they were attacking something when they shouldn't. I tried like heck to pull too on my destro lock back when they had threat issues. Gearscore addon is another thing that upsets me. Seems like nowadays you can't do anything without getting called out for "having bad gear" even though some lower level items are better for the role you are doing.

I don't mind gearscore that much honestly, whenever someone tells me my gear svcks, I explain why, if they don't listen then I know they are idiots that I don't want to waste my time with anyway. Really though, as long as you get it over 5K you'll be fine for most raids before ICC25, at least in the eyes of all the people who only consider GS and nothing else (Read: Morons).

One issue I have when tanking is that people can't listen, at least not very often. I thought it went without saying that you need to wait a second before starting doing damage so I can build some actual threat, but no, people spam away their most powerfull attacks right away, and often before I've pulled at all, how do they expect me to tank like that? I normally do raids or HC's with a group of friends, but some randoms are just plain idiots.

I remember one instance, where a druid kept using knockback on mobs as I was tanking them, which spread them out and forced me to gather them again so I could keep building threat. In short it was annoying and hindered me from doing my job. I told him politely to stop and he refused, this was his reason: "NO! It do more dmg and it's funner!"

So yeah, he got kicked :P The bad part was that apparently the warlock in our group was a friend of the guy we just kicked, and instead of just leaving like a rational human being, he decided to sabotage the run by pulling like a maniac and refusing to dps. I mean seriously, I understand that younger people than me play this game, but these guys acted like 5 year olds.

I think gearscore is a good tool to use, but you have to take it with a grain of salt.
Especially trinkets. I had a hard time getting my gearscore over 5600 until I finally got the trinket off Saurfang in ICC because my trinkets were bad to gearscore, but the 2nd best in the game according to everything else. And it was Mjolnirs Runestone. The ArP proc shot me up to 100% arp once every minute or so, and that's a huge DPS increase. But it has a low gearscore level bc it's from Ulduar 10.

I was playing on Twilights Hammer, but I believe those two guys were from Al'Akir.

I'm just trying to motivate myself to get 60 frost emblems as quickly as possible so I can buy the tanking trinket for my warrior, trinkets are a [censored] to find, and they're far to expensive in my opinion, espeically considering how extremely hard it is to get some of the better ones at level 80.

Really, I'm just trying to craft as much gear as I can at this point, I'm not comfortable tanking ICC with my current gear, mostly because I don't want to ruin a raid for anyone else and because repair bills tend to get expensive. I've tried tanking ToC10 a few times, but I always end up with me and one of my friends being the only ones who know what to do. Haven't played since I got Red Dead Redemption now though, so I've missed abouta week of doing dailies and daily heroics/weekly raid, I'm trying to summon the will to do all the Argent Tournament achievements (Again) as well as farming the Shattered Sun Tabard :P

I've got 42k hp unbuffed in my warriors offspec tank gear, and I've tanked more than half of ICC25. You're ready for it, you just might not have the experience yet to be comfortable. Honestly, when a tank is comfortable and you have confident healers, a tank with low HP can tank anything, so long as he knows what he's doing.
I recommend just badge farming and getting the trinket. I know it's tough being 60 badges, but it's worth it. That is if you're talking about the stam key trinket.

Oh. Well when you're playing if you ever see somebody named Caang, Yogaso, Zenshinaga, Telemarketus, Sinles, Scroti, Earfungus, or armadillo then you have met one of my friends. If they're griefing or being just plain stupid in a raid, then they are very bored and doing whatever entertains them.

Yeah I'm after the key...thingie. :P There's still a few crafted items I want though, you could check my armory link for Warpants, should be in the OP. If you have any tips or suggestions I'd love to hear them. :)

Your gear isn't bad, at all. Except your trinkets and shield.
I'd work on replacing those trinkets and shield asap. The shield from Ulduar 10 hardmode The Boreal Guard is a great one. Pretty easy too.
Just took a look at your gems; I'd suggest trying to get def capped w/o defense gems. You could do it if you got rid of that armor trinket, and got the def one from Lorkhan in HoL.
And then gem full stam. Plus, if you leveled JC/BS, you could add on soooo much HP. Probably 3k.

Yeah, I should try for that, a friend told me there's a good shield in ToC as well, but I haven't looked at the loot-tables in a while so I'm not sure. My only real problem with my gear is that a lot of it lacks defense rating, meaning that I had to gem for it to be capped, which costs me a lot of stamina gems, and having a high HP is pretty much essential to get into any groups these days.
