UGH. I officialy hate this new LFG system; so many noobs, dumbasses, and need-rolling-then-quitters. Yesterday, I was running Maraudon (PW), and some warlock needs the ring the last boss drops: the http://www.wowarmory.com/item-info.xml?i=17713. I already had it, but I was still pissed at him for doing that when other people actually needed it. And later on, I was running ST, and some hunter needs the shield the last boss drops; the http://www.wowarmory.com/item-info.xml?i=10835. The tank was so pissed, I convinced him to write a ticket to the GMs.

Stupidity should be a crime.

Rarely happens to me on my server, you get the occasional ninja of course but generally I've had good experiences. It depends on where you play really. Then again, as soon as someone shows enough signs of being a complete idiot (Like pulling 30+ mobs when I'm already tanking ten of them...) I just vote for a kick immediatly, and usually it goes through, as a tank I can get into groups almost instantly so it's not really that much of a problem for me.

They should just get rid of the damn "Need or Greed" system and have just one kind of roll, period. That way nobody can complain about what they end up with, because nobody could abuse it.

See, and that's what I hate; all the ninjas and noobs are going to ruin it for the people that actually need stuff that drops. I think a system like that would be ok if people were considerate enough to let people that actually need it have the item, but sadly, people are never going to get to that degree of nice-ness. The whole idea of instances/raids and boss drops is never going to be perfect, because there's always going to be a way people find to abuse it.

But the problem dissapears completely once you have trustworthy and skilled players to group with. Usually that's the case when i sign for random instances on my realm, but I can see how it's not like that on every realm. Still though, the system isn't perfect, but with players who have half a brain it's not an issue worth fixing in my opinion.

I've met a good deal of players who don't meet that requirement with this new LFG system.

I believe you need a level 55 character.

Thanks. And from what people are saying about the need/greed rolling, couldn't Blizzard just make a system for certain types of raids/instances where only certain classes can roll for it? I am just making a suggestion, my friends that had level 80's all said the same as you guys :P. I am just getting into WoW too by the way....

The problem disappears completely when you get rid of "Need or Greed". It's just begging for abuse to say "Okay everybody has to roll for this item to be fair about who gets it...but this type of rolling is more important than that type of rolling, and will overrule the other rolls."

Why everybody doesn't just default to "Need" rolls to level the playing field is beyond me.

True. When I start doing instances/raids, I will only need roll for something that I could use and will use. Other than that, I just pass.

Why not greed? If nobody needs it then you might as well have a chance to get it and sell it.

Anyway, it doesn't really matter in raids as most people use the Master Looter system, with only the people who can use it for their main talent spec are allowed to roll. The loot master then decides who gets it.
The loot system will never be perfect, but I see no reason to change it, there are bigger issues to handle really. Sure, the system can be exploited, but that's a risk worth taking in my opinion. Besides, if you notice someone is a ninja early on you can always just kick him, or switch to master looter to make sure it doesn't happen again.

I'm not sure if it's like this on every server, but on mine, if you ninja something in a raid or the likes you will get your name posted in the trade channel most of the time, which makes it difficult to find new groups. Especially when everyone involved tells their guilds and suddenly 10 or 20 guilds want nothing to do with you.

I always Greed/DE in Dungeons. Frozen Orbs I have to need on anymore or you don't even get a chance to roll. I did lose a mail pants piece to a druid twice in Maraudon. Didn't think it could happen but it can at least with those pants.I'm just glad they're not lvl 232's. :biglaugh: The stink would never end.

Anyone notice since last week's maintenance any sort of performance issue? I've been getting 20-30 second freezes shortly after starting the game (anywhere from 2-10 minutes) and then graphical corruption. Once I quit the game and restart its fine for the rest of the time I play (a few hours or whatever). It ran perfectly until last week.

I haven't noticed anything. Did have some hitches in gameplay yesterday but that was because of the patch downloading.

I'm trying different classes right now I got a Night elf Hunter, a Night elf Rouge, a Undead Warlock, a Human Warrior and a Tauren Shaman. I like Night elf's but undead and trolls seem pretty kick ass as well. :twirl:

well, if you want the advice of someone who played Alliance for four years and then switched over to Horde...go Horde! :P

Really though, play whatever you want to, pick the race you like the most and the class that appeals to you the most. Most classes don't show their full potential untill they're a bit higher level, Paladins are an excellent example, I find them crap before they hit level 50-60. Warriors, at least when levelling as protection will also need a few levels under their belt to really shine, I've been levelling one by mostly tanking in dungeons and man is it fast.

The european monthly fee is 12.99 Euro per month, I've got my credit card registered to be billed each month, if British customers are able to pay in pounds then I've got no idea how much, but it shouldn't be a problem for you to translate the price to your currency.

Some general info on the game, it's like most MMO games, in fact most MMO's are modelled after wow to varying degrees. I'm not really sure how to explain it, you could always get a free trial account to try it for yourself, I think that'll tell you more than I can in text really.

Do you happen to have an Nvidia card with the 196.75 drivers? If so they had fan control problems and caused overheating. There is a thread over at their http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=23614401539&sid=1 about it.

Shift-right click it then drag it off the bar. Or maybe it's shift-left click. One of those.

You can also enable additional battle bars in the Options menu, which comes in real handy later when you have a whole lot of spells/skills/talents.

You might have 'Toolbar Lock' or whatever it's called on. You can turn that off in the Interface options menu (hit Esc to bring it up), but to move them without changing that, hold the shift button when you try to drag them off.

I like Toolbar Lock. Before I started using it, I would accidently pull some of my abilities off the bar by accident when in combat.

I rarely ever use the mouse for combat anymore, though it's very helpfull for the few things I haven't bothered making hotkeys for.

Not sure what you mean, I got my games retail, so I have the discs somewhere around here. Did you download the game or trial?

I think it was my new GTX 260 (or possibly a combination of it and the bad 196.75 drivers which I also had installed). I went back to 196.21 and stuck my 8800 GTX in and its fine now. The GTX 260 is getting returned though (still exhibiting problems). Either it was defective to begin with or the bad drivers damaged it (although it seemed to be running cool even with those drivers - I checked it as soon as I bought it with HWMonitor). Anyway, a bit of hassle but all is well now.
