Just made my flying machine. Cost more then I thought. Chagning my sub spec to combat and redoing my assassination spec on my rogue, been grinding all day in 5 mans with a lvl 80. Was 56 earlier, now 61, close to 62.

You mean just regular priests?

We already have those, y'know.

..what?
How do you get a regular priest out of what I just typed?
That's like saying Deathknights are the exact same things as Warriors, just because they use 1 and 2 handed weapons.
Shooting ravens out of your hands = mind blast?

A priest that can either heal or use shadow-based attacks? That's kinda already the case.

And just having a different animation for the exact same spells doesn't really warrant an entirely new class, does it?

Holy [censored], what a raid. I got saved in ICC10 on Warpants earlier today with a crap group, so I joined ICC10 on Bownage, who I haven't played in so long. It was me and three real life friends along with some guildmates of various people and it was awesome. We did everything up to blood queen, and did Deathwhisper and Gunship on Heroic mode, and guess what. On both heroics I got loot, I got the HC Njorndar Bone Bow and the HC Pauldrons of Lost Hope :D Tomorrow we're getting the group back together to try Sindragosa and Lich King, if Bownage gets Kingslayer next to her name, I'm playing her as my main for a while :P So yeah, awesome raid.

Can't decide between Assassination or Combat on my rogue. I have dual specs and have both specs. So far they're copies from the standard PvE raid specs for each filled in each main talent tree, putting the rest of the points as I go. Every time I do a dungeon I switch at least 6 times can't decide which I like more or do more damage as. Here is my rogue, still in the Armory as 61 and he's in my Assassination spec.

I don't think I mentioned anything about mechanics. They obviously would be completely different.
Shadow Priest and warlocks use shadow based attacks. Paladins and Priest use Holy power to heal targets.
Same class? No. Different mechanics.

Well...I found out after I got Envenom that Assassination is the [censored], I just wiped our group in Slave Pens because I got mind controlled and killed the other 2 DPS and the healer.

Heh. I was on my hunter this morning and the same exact thing happened to me. I was with a DK, Warrior tank, lock, and disc Priest. I got MC'd by the soothesayer and did a multi-shot which one shot the priest and lock. Then I did a chimera shot on the warrior to finish him off. By that time the DK got flattened and then I got mine. Luckily the priest was soulstoned so we didnt have to walk the whole way back.

Speaking of hunters I want to get that turtle for him. That thing looks badass.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ayPbmSghd6k&NR=1, a Worgen frost mage. Found this while (finally) looking at some of the Cata vids.

So, Worgen can turn back into human form? I thought they stayed in wolven form.

What I like:
- all spells are listed in the spellbook, so no more "crap, when do I get that again?"
- looks like professions are too, in their own page
- the Glyphs page and Quest Log haven't been dumbed down
- Worgen running animations
- flying a netherwing over SW (which actually looks big)
- something to do in Raven Hill
- having to visit a dungeon before you can queue for it (no more -- well, less -- getting lost on the way back)

What I'm not crazy about:
- still not a fan of bottom-tier talents being handed out so early, makes me wonder if there'll be anything to work for
- Worgen casting animations :yuck:
- /standard "don't like being locked into a tree" QQ, getting used to the idea though so it's more like qq now

Undecided:
- the new character page, probably just takes some getting used to
- even more FP's?
- having to visit a dungeon before you can queue for it (no more RFC/Stockades at early levels, unless those are excluded, call me old-fashioned)
- "Ding!" text? Is it actually useful? Or is it yet more spoon-feeding?
- splitting STV -- I'm in favour of STV getting revamped, just haven't seen it yet

I've not seen any Worgen caster animations. But if it's anything like the Undead, I'll hate it.
And yeah, Worgen can choose to stay in Human or Worgen form when out of combat, but are automatically transformed into a Worgen during combat.

That right there made me lose whatever shred of hope I had for worgens. I knew Goblins were gonna be my favorite.

The best feature of Cata is just the revamped zones. It's gonna be awesome visiting each zone again and doing all new quests.

Why's that a negative point for you, Galuf? It fits with the lore of the race and the disease they have.

Seems like a very annoying feature. You have to hover your mouse over someone to figure out he's Worgen? And there is an annoying transforming animation whenever you enter combat? :/

And yeah, those casting animations look pretty damn bad.

Yep, they are horrible: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k4uno1A8IOU There's no way I could play 85 levels of that.

So you can fly in Azeroth now? I thought I read that you couldn't for some reason.

Yeah all these new features wont happen until the patch before Cataclysm, and even flying I don't think will happen until Cata actually hits.

Riding a mount that flies, instead of just runs on the ground. Right now, flying mounts are only available for Outland and Northrend, but with Cata, they'll be usable in Azeroth too. I thought we'd need to get a different mount to fly in Azeroth, but it looks like we can keep what we get in the other two places.

Especially if I only mashed buttons. That "unavailable" clicking annoyed me more than the animations

That's crazy. I thought I heard there would be no such thing. It makes things so much easier in this game. Probably my favorite "new" thing in WoW - being able to fly. Makes the Outlands much more bearable. Questing and gathering isn't such a pain in the ass anymore.

That'll be awesome with the new expansion to be able to do it in Azeroth.

About the flying. I have tested it a fair bit (to the extent that it really needs actual testing) and you can use your flying mounts in Azeroth, you don't need new ones. The no-flight zone is simply lifted, though there are spots here and there that will dismlunt you and that needs adressing, but beta is beta. Flying won't change in any way, except for being able to buy 310% speed (Thus upgrading all your 300% mounts to 310%) for 5000g. Apart from that, flying works as before, except in Cata you can also do it in Azeroth.

On questing. Questing will be vastly improved in Cata not only because of flying mounts (Which is obviously only available to higher level players) but because most quests and zones are being overhauled. I'm going to name a few zones:

Westfall.
Redridge Mountain.
Duskwood.
Stranglethorn Vale.

Odds are most players know what those zones are currently like, they are bloody boring. In the Beta I've quested through them all on a Worgen, and they were brilliant, each and every one of them, Redridge in particular had a truly epic main quest that I will not spoil, simply because it's so damn good. I especially like the auto-follow up system on some quests.

In some quests you will have a gnomish radio for example, thus when you finish a quest you don't run back to the questgiver for the next one, he simply calls you on said radio and gives you the next one right then and there. In the hunting quest in STV, I killed 10 young tigers, then that thing popped up and said something along the lines of "You have killed 10 young tigers, you feel it's time to move on to bigger prey" and then that's what I did. That system is fantastic.

Well I've found a guaranteed way to make my phone ring, it works every time: enter an instance. Yep, the minute I'm in an instance, or more often when I'm at a really crucial part and I need to pay full attention to what's going on - the phone will ring. It happens so often to me I swear I'm cursed. I could ignore it but then I know my other phone will ring. If I answer it I'm forced to give a dodgy sounding "Erm, can I call you back in a few minutes? I'm kind of in the middle of something right now" excuse which probably makes them think "Ewww what's he doing?" You can't win.

NICE! I haven't gotten to Outland yet, and I still need to buy WotLK (Only have WoW and Burning Crusade).

I will definitely be getting Cataclysm then...And WotLK too. ^_^
